Gotta love that Kaiba not only named the top students "Obelisk Blue" for his God Card, but even had the audacity to name the delinquents "Slifer Red" after Yugi's God Card. This is the equivalent of Gary Motherfucking Oak starting a Pokemon training academy and naming the lowest rank "The Pikachus".
To basically explain what happened since the original series ended : Card games at school Card games on motorcycles Card games with Scouters Card games in alternate dimensions
@@dakotadoyle7573 actually Mai Valentine surrendered twice in the Yugioh anime. Surrendering in her duel with Tea Gardner and again to Yugi after he summoned black luster soldier.
Seriously, I love how everything is solved in the Yu Gi Oh! world by dueling ... want to stop a criminal? dueling want to save your friends from death? dueling coming out to your parents? dueling
Might suck though if you're terrible at the card game. Imagine you're robbed and the cops only response is "That's what you get for having a terrible deck". Or some business wants to build a parking lot where your house is and you have to duel them for it. Instead of hiring expensive lawyers companies would probably hire professional duelists who bought the best cards.
The manga introduces the recurring cast over the first few chapters, but you're basically right in saying we were dropped right in the middle of the action. That being said, the GX anime and manga and actually very different from each other when it comes to plot and character arcs. - Jaden uses an Elemental Hero deck he inherited from a comatosed pro duelist, and instead of getting the Neo Spacians as his second deck after getting his ass kicked by anti-villain Aster, he gets the Masked Heroes. - Chazz is more of Jaden's rival and foil in this series and uses a dragon deck with Light and Darkness Dragon being his ace. No Ojamas. Basically, he's Kaiba. - Syrus and Zane are roughly the same as in Season 1, Alexis and Bastion are the same only with different decks, and Chumley does not exist. At all. - Axel, Jim and Jesse had vastly different decks, and were straight up villains from the American Duel Academy - The plot's reminiscent of Season 1 and revolved around the Legendary Planet cards (hence Jaden having Terra Firma, the Earth)
yeah. and wasn't tragoeida the main villain? i read that in the wiki. wow. they really gave the ones who make the manga almost complete creative freedom. i read that in Arc-V manga, they straight up start with all the 4 characters who were connected to Yuya and Zarc in the anime combined into 1 being
Also you totally missed a brilliant point with Kaiba: the guy who steals and destroys cards from the elderly when he can't throw money at the problem to go his way.
Yeah, if Ryuga wanted to beat Jaden specifically, he'd just have to stuff his deck with as many defusion magic cards as he can instead risking being thrown out on the grounds of cheating.
No no, you see Yugi's Black Magician of Chaos could to totally killed Relinquished.. even though Relinquished would of simply absorbed Black Magician cause that was kind of its thing... hmm its almost as if the writers simply made stuff up so the protagonist would win... hmm ( and ohhh God why do I remember that?!)
There's a vid called Mistakes Card Game Anime Make, that kinda talks about this. A real player would watch his opponent, learn his/her strategy, and try to build a deck to counter it.
+Raging Raving You think that's ridiculous? DArk Magician at least has a good effect it could use to deal with RElinquished. Thousand Eyes Restrict lost to freaking *KURIBOH*.
Luck based or not, I'd still wager Joey could run rampant over pretty much any other Duelist in the series that came after the OG Yugioh. Atem (not shitty Yugi) and Kaiba could casually beat probably anyone else in the series without much effort I'd say too. (that is if they upgrade they're decks accordingly to fit in with the new rules and playstyles the newer seasons introduced, like Pendulums, Synchros, XYZ's etc; obviously they couldn't do very well with their classic Yugioh decks)
well depends... Kaiba and Yugi's/Atem signature decks Blue eyes and Dark magician are doing or at least have been doing incredibly well in the meta for a while now, due to massive buffs they received ,so yes they could stomp through a lot of the decks used by other characters, especially those that have not received buffs However sorry but no, Joey's deck is horribly dated when compared to most other decks (trust me i have seen people try to use his deck against modern decks and it often gets stomped very quickly) but honestly considering how much plot Armour joey has he probably would win simply on the fact that he is a main protagonist and he "has" to win
Speaking of Alexis being one of the few female characters, anyone ever wonder if you're just guaranteed to be in Obelisk Blue if you're a girl? Cause we don't see a female member of Ra Yellow ever and Blair is the only Slifer Girl we see, and she basically chose to be in Slifer and graduated to Obelisk after 1 season.
If I remember correctly that there were a few Ra girls and Slifer girls who served as background, I think the Obelisk have two dorms, while the other two are co-ed
There was a character named Blair who was a Slifer Red and there were girl some Ra Yellows but other than that yeah girls that appeared were most Obelisk Blue
Yeah same with that theme song essentially. I grew up with GX,5ds and even Zexal the most😅am trying to get into yugioh more so even tho I can't fine all the episodes for each season sub..so far am watching 5ds sub on Hulu and am really liking it so far:)
It's funny that Jaden have the most normal hair among YGO protagonist while Yuuya is somewhat messy. But I do hope they make a female protagonist in the future.
Alvin De Rama I doubt a female protagonist will be a thing in yugioh. If only because there's a sort of mindset that since I the demographic is boys, then they'll identify more with a male character. Or at least I THINK that's why.
THE DRAGON KNIGHT SLAYER64:Well Zarc was the final boss and other youtubers talking about arc-v says that Yuya is the antagonist and Yuzu is the protagonist because Yuya,Yuto,Yugo,Yuri are a reincarnation of a villain while Yuzu,Rubin,Lulu,Serena are reincarnations of the hero who is the professors daughter of arc-v’s evil duel Academy😅😤😅😅😅😎😅!!!!!!!!!!
Grown men dueling each other with a children's card game! I kid you not, that was just another Tuesday at my college. I went to an art college, and there where always at least 2 to 3 tables in the lounge filled with two people playing Yu-Gi-Yo cards, and like 12 other people surrounding them and watching. I didn't understand the game, but I did play once, blindly, and yet, went with my gut and some how won a round with a seemingly "weak" monster card. Yeah, the guys were trying to explain how I won, but I still didn't get it.
So let me see if I got this right. ancient Egyptians summon demonic creatures to do their bidding and battle for their amusement. And somewhere along the lines someone said this should be available for kids in the form of a fun card game because marketing. Probably the same Group of people who decided Ouija boards should be sold in the toy section. lol
“No I won’t tell you what my deck is. That ruins the surprise” This man really wants to act like we don’t all know he plays a masked HERO deck with Elemental HEROES in it
I kind of stopped watching GX because...mainly I actually liked it when it was nice and silly and it bummed me out when it started getting darker. Particularly when I read about what happened to Jaden in season 4. (Also, as a kid, I was annoyed he and Alexis never hooked up, I think that was one of the first ships I shipped)
Someone's not who they're supposed to be. Linkara begins the storyline segment by castling, a move commonly used to symbolize switching places. It's also worth noting that Linkara's acting as he did whenever there was Silent Hill stuff going on, paranoid and obsessed. This unstable mindset is also shown in that he doesn't realize there's something off about the chess game, that being that nobody is moving the black pieces. Current theory is that the Entity is in Linkara, and he's playing against himself, thus explaining both of the above points.
That and, at the end of the King of Worms storyline, Linkara basically all but said it. When the King looked in Linkara's head, it saw _something_ that scared it to death. What else could it be? And if that isn't conclusive enough, during that vision, one thing it says is the quote "Those who are dead aren't dead, they're just living in my head".
It kind of makes sense in a way. What was the Entity? A being born from a random occurrence of something trying to draw information from a reference that didn't exist. Theoretically the Entity is in a state of constant flux with the very concept of existence thus it could "die" as long as it could replicate the events of its existence. Say like robbing Linkara of a small fraction of his mind before killing itself, thus the more Linkara tries to contemplate the Entity with either memory or context he is in effect drawing data from nothing. Linkara's brain being used in lieu of a gameboy to replicate the reality of it's existence thus reforming after a time in corporal reality.
22:10 Linkara castled his King, then at 25:15 the Black Knight has moved by itself, 26:15 Linkara moved his Knight, 26:21 the Black Knight has moved again, 26:50 Linkara moved one of the Pawns in front of his King, 27:56 the Black Knight has again moved by itself and we end with 27:59 of Linkara moving his other Pawn from in front of his King. I've been noticing this chess game happening in the background for a while but I think this is the only time we have seen multiple moves in one section before, so until now I had assumed that Linkara was playing against himself. I agree with the theory that the Entity is Linkara or at least existing in part of his mind. Linkara thinks he is playing against himself when he is actually playing against The Entity (Missing No.). The fate of the world could reside on this chess match and Linkara isn't even aware of what's at stake.
Leon Ortega I don't recall the Doctor's mind being possessed by the Cyber King, are you referring to the episode where the Doctor, Amy and Rory are trapped inside dreams, Amy's Choice? Where the Dream Lord is actually in the Doctor's mind and not Amy's?
I remember watching GX as a kid and I loved it and I wanted to be like Jaden so much that my deck was the elemental heroes. This review got me back into Yugioh, so much so that I've rewatched the first 2 seasons of GX and it's even better than I remember.
Ryuga: Even the cards themselves would be happier. Linkara: You make a convincing argument, here you go! Ryuga: ... This is a Pokemon card. Linkara: And it's clearly much happier with you I love that joke XD
Oh my god, Linkara-senpai's favorite Yugioh! series is the same as mine 😍 i freaking love Jaden since he A) uses superheroes and B) actually enjoyed the game and life in general
*fist-bumps* Because the dub is hilarious. There is a time and place for preferring anime in its original Japanese (Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura) but there are times when the dub actually ADDS to the experience. I would argue that YGO is one of those. For better or worse. XD
Jayden: Hey wait a minute did your Blue-Eyes-White-Dragon just eated my Winged Kuriboh? Linkara: Yeah.. So? Jayden: You can't Fucking do that that's against the rules. Linkara: Screw the Rules I have my awesome outfit! Then Dr Vellian Crowler gives out bird 'giving the finger' and laughs at Jayden with the Nelson Muntz laugh.
Guys, are we going to ignore the fact that, as of this review, Linkara currently has every single regular review caught up? This is a monumental occasion, and I want you to acknowledge it!
I'd love to see you do a history of Yu-Gi-Oh series, like you did for Power Rangers. Like covering the video games and the spin off shows, like Yugioh GX.
I'm so with you, Linkara. Yugioh GX may have some goofy moments (Season 1 has a lot of them but really toned down on the next seasons) and some goofy dub voices with the accents as well, oh and even the fourth wall jokes that the dub has but the characters and story ain't bad after all. 😅 Oh and Jaden's character development is one of those great qualities in the series. I've seen both dubs (Japanese and English) and yes, there are some differences in the series like the English dub toning down the violence in it. :) And I just love how you say that GX is your fave Yugioh series of all time, which the same goes for me as well haha. xD
I think that the idea of the "Spell system" being broken makes sense. The disk probably checks that they're doing a legal move, with the spell system broken then it wouldn't check, and thus couldn't register if he was doing a legal move or not, so he couldn't use the spell cards
I was thinking that too, since I'm pretty sure joeys duel disk refused to let him summon a monster with more than 4 stars when he first used one. I suspect any other time a card can't be used the duel disk wouldn't allow it, just to make sure neither duelist makes up something about how the cards work. Considering my brain keeps defaulting to duelist kingdom rules I'd really expect that to be a needed feature.
Honestly with how complicated Yu-Gi-Oh can get, especally modern Yu-Gi-Oh I totally believe there needs to be a school to teach people this damn card game.
So has anyone noticed how Nimue is voiced by Lupa instead of the usual VA...Just like what happened when the Entity was in the apartment and she specifically said the Entity's presence was messing with her functions?
I really look forward to seeing your thoughts on the later 2 yugioh series, 5Ds is easily the most loved where as Zexal is the most divisive. When you eventually get to the current series Arc-V, preferably after getting through the other yugiohs, I would love to see you go through it. The sheer number of fun (and occasionally scary) call backs to the previous series is making Arc-V an extremely fun series for me to watch, not to mention the scope of the series, making a very fitting series to celebrate the 20th anniversary on
Linkara you do know that GX (and all the spin-off manga) follow a completely different continuity than their anime counterparts. They are all alternate universe with their own unique plots and character development. You should read all of the GX manga if you like GX that much. Also I really want to get you all of the manga for 5Ds and Zexal (my favorite Yugioh) as well!
for some reason, whenever they do a YugiOh manga, after the oriignal one, they decide to create their own story, plots, and characterization (i have read that Leo And Luna from the manga are creepy twins, almost like completely different chracaters compared to their anime counterpats, only sharing name and character design)
So basically this Reyuga Guy had the same plan as Lord Voldemort when he applied for Defense against the Dark Arts Teacher at Hogwarts before starting the First Wizarding War; he wanted to train a new generation of soldiers while they were at school, in an attempt to spread his influence throughout the world...
OK about the duel disk system thing. no it not just to enhance the game but to also make sure players are you know playing fair. Since it hard to keep official judges on stand by all the time to keep check of rules so having it automated keeps the game quick. They have shown that it wont allow a monster to be summoned with out it fulfilling it requirement. any time where cheaters were using special cards they straight up make a point about how they are getting over that rule. Example of these things are both with Joey where he couldn’t summon a high level monster in his domino city duel and when he used effect damage cards against Hugo in a tournament that didn’t allow them. 17:39
Hooray! Littlekuriboh! I've been waiting all month to see if you'd actually get him to pop up for it. I had to stop the video right then and there to like the video. Great stuff.
you see my good sir pot of greed is a spell card that can only be played during ones turn that one being the one who wants to use said card it says that you can draw 2 cards from your deck you see back in ancient egyptain days they used to play on stones however when london was discovered they discovered those games and made them into paper that can be taken from certain plants called papyrus plants and later on an american rich asshole found the very first orginal ancinet egyptain stone game and turned it into a card game you have to get 40 cards of which have spells and trap and monster of different kinds that make up a total of 40 card ore more thou it can only reach 80 thou having a big deck is not recommended and if you so happen to draw the card of a pot that is described as being greddy by the name of pot of greed itll give you a chance to draw two cards you see two is a rather small number for example if you thumb u p something and then pull up your index finger and have all your other fingers closed you just saw the number two and now to drawin while draw does mean no one wins in some cases in this cases it means to put your hand on your deck and take two cards from it and add it to your hand to add is to increase the amount of something for xample if you have five bags and you are about to put the sixth bag in the car then you just added the sixth bag to the trunk of your car but in conclusion, the card is banned anyway there is no real reason to know or explain what it does i just did it for fun
you're all forgetting the most important function of pot of greed, if you're a character from the first season of yugioh, this card is automatically added to your starting hand unless you're either fated to lose easily, or win after 3-4 episodes of the same duel.
linkara: so, evolution dictates that turtles become cyborg dinosaurs? well, if water bugs turn into talking Jewish dinosaurs and otters turn into x-men, I guess anything goes:)
Yu-Gi-Oh! rules of 2018: Play all your strongest cards on the first turn to end the duel by the fifth turn. This folks is why I quit the game when synchro monsters became widely used. It's a big middle finger to the strategy based gameplay of the past.
Nagisa Hazuki Scynchros aren’t a middle finger to the gameplay or strategies of the past. Also If u quit solely cause of how fast it is now, u have options to play old style Yugioh with either speed duels or duel links.
Well actually Pegasus ranks Joey 3rd in his best duelists list and Joey has canonically beaten Yugi in a duel to get his Red-Eyes back after battle city
If Yu-gi-oh uses holograms and augmented reality for its duels, then why the hell does Zexal have the duellists being thrown through the air like a Power Ranger every time they take 500 points of damage?
It's been lampshaded in GX (well... the dub anyway) with Jaden asking why Crowler acts as if getting hurt despite his monsters being holograms. (I think it was vs crowler anyway)
Arc-V does have a better explanation with the newer solid vision technology. Basically, they're still holograms, but they actually do carry some weight so there's force behind attacks and damage and whatnot.
Guys, I just realized... The chess game. Bring up the video in two different windows, then put the time code to 26:21 for the first one. Notice how there is a black knight in front of a bishop. Now go to the second window. Bring up the time 27:55 in that one. Notice something? THE KNIGHT MOVED. WITHOUT PHYSICAL CONTACT FROM LINKARA. IT TOOK PAWN B5.
I'm only about a minute and 43 seconds into the video, but I'm expecting a Yu-Gi-Oh! Abridged or Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Abridged (the one that had ShadyVox as Jaden) reference/joke/scene in this review. I'll still enjoy the video, even if they aren't referenced.
I hate hate HATE GX with a burning passion! BUT WITH THAT SAID, in the recent years, my feelings changed from some dumb "THIS IS THE WORST THING EVER" mindset into a desire to more properly explaining where I'm coming from with this. A part of that comes from personal experiences, but also from finding out that you, a very smart guy, enjoys the series very much. I certainly plan to talk about GX on my own review show in the distant future. But back to this review: I found this episode quite entertaining, although that might be me simply understanding the game of YuGiOh, and thus getting all the jokes that probably fly over other peoples heads. In any case, the fact that our opinions on the series differ, had no impact on my enjoyment of this episode, so... thanks Linkara :)
Can I just say I absolutely HATE the fact that the Legendary Card Osiris was renamed to Slifer after one of the dub producers and that name has stuck to this day? It's so stupid and nonsensical and the only good thing to come out of that is a few mocking ego jokes from LittleKuriboh. Osiris was the Egyptian God of Life and Afterlife, which was perfect as the representation of the protagonists not some knobhead producer. Sure he wasn't a giant dragon but at least it would keep the the franchise theme of (shakes fist) ANCIENT EGYPT!
Fragments Beta I personally thought the joke was since Osiris was the death god the workers were basically calling their executive producer the Harvenger of Death.
Osiris really doesn't work for that design though. Maybe I've just too used to that name, but Slifer just fits that unique design more than naming it after Osiris. Obelisk is a giant stone titan Ra is a huge flaming bird Osiris...is a giant two mouthed dragon???
5Ds is pretty good, but gets dark alot, Zexal sucks and Arc-V is pretty good. Be warned, as a GX fan there is a certain aspect you might not like in that one. Also, when did Gendo Ikari join Duel Acadamy?
i have never wached either Arc-V or Zexal. iand due to havin overly religious mom, i had to frop Yugioh GX. and couldn't finish either YugiOh, the popular 2° series, or 5DS. i started watched with VRAINS. which series do you recommend me to watch again. finish the classical, or start with GX, Zexal or Arc-V. also, when did Linkara started using the "Slifer slackers eyecatch"
I absolutely LOVE GX it is my favorite yugioh season of them all. Jaden is by far my favorite protagonist. This is a treat and a half to watch, thanks Linkara.
I know, right? I think there is a check for about 4 turns (with the white bishop) in this episode, the queens and kings are switched in the first chess episode, and there are generally moves that do not make sense.
A nice theory, but it would be kind of a copout, saying that everything that's happened since then isn't real. Probably one of the reasons Lewis didn't use it.
Great storyline :) Linkara sinking even deeper into mistrust and paranoia is great. The fact, that Comicron 1 was brought down by something so small and (relativly) insignificant was an awsome twist. But it does carry the shadows of the big bad threats with it. 90s kid is beeing dodgy and shady, but he is himself. The confrontation was extremely tense.
I've always found Yu-Gi-Oh! kind of hilarious, since if you go back and read the first few chapters of the manga there is nothing about the card game, nothing about friendship, and Yami Yugi pretty clearly uses the games to basically torture and kill his opponents. For kids! The whole "heart of the cards" thing has always seemed more than a little camp and stupid to me.
The original Yugioh wasn't for kids and yami yugi usually tortured people after they tried to cheat. Heart of the cards isn't Canon and only exists in the 4kids dub. Also Jaden's catch phrases don't exist in the original either.
+Angel Majao The original Yu-Gi-Oh! was ALWAYS for kids, it was serialized in Shonen Jump, which is a comic anthology magazine marketed to boys aged 8-12. Japan just has more lax standards for what they think kids can be exposed to (which in this case is Hellraiser-meets-Magic the Gathering).
3:27 Considering his, Kirran's, and Grant's experience with the game, summed up by the thumbnail of that last playthru episode, one would be driven as nuts as Lani would be.
So far, the only Yu-Gi-Oh thing that I actually liked was Season zero. that was awesome and I wish that the entire franchise was based off of the concept that a shadow duel could be almost any game/wager you can think of. It is much better in my opinion than it just being the card game.
Yu-Gi-Oh! (遊☆戯☆王 Yūgiō, trans. "King of Games", occasionally subtitled "A Game of Darkness", "First Season", or "Season Zero" by fans) is the first anime adaptation of the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga series. The 27-episode series was produced by Toei Animation and aired on TV Asahi from April 4 to October 10, 1998. yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Yu-Gi-Oh!_(Toei_anime) So yeah. it is commonly called season zero. I don't see what your problem is.
Ok time to weigh in. You make alot of valid points about the GX manga, like living in world dominated by a card game, however i think my biggest problem with Jaden is how Effing perfect he was. The Gx anime had so many other great fleshed out characters, then began to ignore them. In a show about a school of dueling, having the main character be the best at the game seems a bit, redundant. To me Syrus shouldve been the REAL main character because as you point out he is the one that goes bad duelist living in his brothers shadow to raising through the ranks growing more confident and eventually becoming a great duelist in his own right. My Problem with Jaden is he ISNT fleshed out, we get nothing of a real 'history' of the guy we know he is just some happy guy, loves dueling then goes emo, then at the ends of the series goes back to thinking the way he did when the show started, nothing about him is fleshed out yet the show is fixated on him. The MANGA on the other hand i think also went the opposite root, while the first chapter does explain much, as the story goes on we learn more about Jadens past and even learn WHY he uses Heroes and WHY he is the way he is. The manga make Jaden a much more organic character, as apposed to the glittering terd we get in the anime, all the other characters however that were so fleshed out in the anime (with the exception of Chazz who gets a little backstory) we dont really get much more about them except that they exist. Overall I think the Manga is better then the Anime but thats just my opinion. I would recommend 5Ds as its arguably my favorite series of all the animes (though i havent watched Arc V yet) All in all great episode man! :D
My theory is that Yugi's hair looks that way because it sorta resembles the headdresses worn by ancient Egyptian pharaohs, which fits seeing as how he's possessed/haunted by one of these pharaohs.
Thank you! I've seen so many people bashing GX, it's great to find someone else who found it their favorite(though arc v is giving it a run for its money)
I'd love to see you do a History of Yugioh, like your history of power rangers. Make it a joint thing with LittleKuriboh. I bet you would both have fun. :-)
i hope they use Latin american bits of the YugiOh series (the theme song of Zexal in latin american is so inspiring and cathcy, and the voice of Yami in latin american dub is just so awesome)
I know this contradicts my mega theory but I have another theory... or at least part of it: What if when 90s Kid was in the future he found out that some great tragedy happened because of Linkara, he became paranoid and did something that maybe caused a shit ton of deaths or something like that, and maybe it had something to do with Comicron-1 so he got in contact with Lord Vyce to help him prevent it, and he sent the Cybermat to sabotage Comicron-1, he knew how to destroy the ship, so it makes sense.
The yugioh gx manga has a pretty much completely different plot and characterizations that the show. its basically the same in name only. I remember liking the manga much more as a kid.
I personally like the original series better then Yu-Gi-Oh GX, mostly because... Well, the original series always had a clear direction with all of its arcs, where GX first arc seemed to barely have any idea of what it was doing for the most part, had a villain who was only defeated because he was a idiot who couldnt use his OP as hell monsters properly( Seriously, re-watch the duel some day. The guy seems to barely use any monsters or cards other then the actual sacred beasts and Lost Paradise, and he only uses Uria card-destroiyng effect a couple of times, despite how usefull it is ), and the series would only actually start having proper story and character arcs on the secound season... And even then, the only villain, of the GX series, that I remember actually liking, was Yu Bel from the third series. ... Sure, she was admittedly awesome as a villain, but you have to go through over 100 episodes to actually SEE her. Meanwhile, in the first series, I like most of the villains: Pegasus with his flamboyant nature and manchild tendencies, regular Marik with his desire for freedon at all costs( And a understandable one ), Dark Marik for just how batshit crazy he was, even the ones from the fillers, like Dartz and Noah, I found to be better then every GX villain sans possibly Yu Bel. But hey, I still had lots of fun with GX, and believe that, if anything, it is kind of underrated, so I feel you there. May I recomend Yu-Gi-Oh 5D? Because, if it is worldbuilding and exploring the implications of the card game importance you want, 5D, especially the original Japanese version, will give you that... It will give you a LOT of that...
Don't give up on Comicron1 Linkara. There is a bunch of stuff you can do afterall. You don't need the towers to raise the ship for the initial repairs becuase that guy who isn't Filmbrain learned how to use the force in the plot hole movie, remember. He can lift the ship for you while you subsequently reattach the towers. Structural integrity can be reinforced with a megnetic resonance induction array pointed at the buckling areas of the ship in equal magnitude to the external forces. Your cybermats can probably also move the ship to each tower in the way those little crabs moved jack sparrows ship, then dig beneath the ship and reinstall the towers. Another thing to try is to use one of your morphers and summon a zord to help lift your ship up for repairs, or use that giant robot you stole from Dr Insano that was from one of your early comic book reviews. I don't remember the giant robots name. Teleport it up there to assist with repairs. But do keep Comicron1 as it is cited in your ballad and it would be a shame for Ballad to go obsolete. P.S. give Poyo working arms.
Also one of reasons I defend Yugioh against the other fans that mock it is because this show really built a bond between my sister and I and got us through summer school, motivating us to not give up and get into high school. And gave us awesome role playing adventures and opening us up to other anime series
Wait a minute. When Linkara moves pieces on the chessboard its always the white pieces. We never see the blacks move. What? WHO IS HE PLAYING AGAINST? Also, why isn't 90's kid being honest? At some point he's gonna have to confess he's been working with Vice. The moment you're being accused of being possessed by the one enemy Vice would never work with seems like a pretty darn good time to mention it. Or... is there more to that than I know at this point in the story? Ugh
Was counting the seconds until the Ancient Egypt joke. I expected it sooner. You held out longer than I gave you credit. I can buy that a cybermat could cause that level of damage. With enough time a trickle of water can erode through rock.
He doesn't have to worry about the rules because he has a lot of money.
His affluence makes a nonsense of the regulations.

To basically explain what happened since the original series ended :
Card games at school
Card games on motorcycles
Card games with Scouters
Card games in alternate dimensions
Darklight Photon The True King Of Weeb Trash Or for Arc v Card games while doing parkour
That's about right
now we have Card games in Virtual Reality coming soon
Darklight Photon what's next card games in SPACE!
wasn't technically GX part cards in space, part cards in alternate dimensions?
Amd now Card Games in Virtual Realities

You've got Mai Valentine on that list. Surrendering duels was basically her signature move.
She only did that once
@@dakotadoyle7573 actually Mai Valentine surrendered twice in the Yugioh anime. Surrendering in her duel with Tea Gardner and again to Yugi after he summoned black luster soldier.

coming out to your parents? dueling
a peaceful world where every conflict can be solved by PLAYING A CHILDREN'S CARD GAME
I really want to live in that world ...
Eh, I'm actually pretty good at the game
Especially if I'm using my main deck
Funnily enough, Yu-Gi-Oh 5D is pretty much dedicated to deconstruct just that. But that is another story.
At all.
- Axel, Jim and Jesse had vastly different decks, and were straight up villains from the American Duel Academy
- The plot's reminiscent of Season 1 and revolved around the Legendary Planet cards (hence Jaden having Terra Firma, the Earth)
yeah. and wasn't tragoeida the main villain? i read that in the wiki. wow. they really gave the ones who make the manga almost complete creative freedom. i read that in Arc-V manga, they straight up start with all the 4 characters who were connected to Yuya and Zarc in the anime combined into 1 being
Wow. That's really cool to know. Now I want to read the manga.
The GX manga also includes a character not in the anime, Midori Hibiki, a teacher at Slifer Red and Jaden's surrogate big sister. She's awesome.
"Draw" *gets winged Kuriboh* "WHAT THE [BEEP] YOU WANT FROM ME?!"
YOU WANTED TO HELP ME IS THAT YOU WANT here
that actually caught me off guard XD
Where is that from
@@kirinbobarcanaI would have to guess the dub
Also you totally missed a brilliant point with Kaiba: the guy who steals and destroys cards from the elderly when he can't throw money at the problem to go his way.
Yeah, if Ryuga wanted to beat Jaden specifically, he'd just have to stuff his deck with as many defusion magic cards as he can instead risking being thrown out on the grounds of cheating.
No you see, while Jaden specializes in fusions, he always wins using plot device cards.
how unlike any other yugioh protagonist. Did he attack the moon too?
Joey is actually the third best player in the world by the time of GX
His deck is luck based, the bronze medal can be had on a coin toss
not only is it luck based, its not even accurate luck, as his graceful dice and skull dice cards are stupidly op compared to the real versions
Kaiba and Yugi's/Atem signature decks Blue eyes and Dark magician are doing or at least have been doing incredibly well in the meta for a while now, due to massive buffs they received ,so yes they could stomp through a lot of the decks used by other characters, especially those that have not received buffs
However sorry but no, Joey's deck is horribly dated when compared to most other decks (trust me i have seen people try to use his deck against modern decks and it often gets stomped very quickly)
but honestly considering how much plot Armour joey has he probably would win simply on the fact that he is a main protagonist and he "has" to win
Joey probably switched to red eyes, which has some decent support
Me after seeing the title card - aww, no storyline?
Me after watching the episode - oh shit! The storyline! Sewing machine!
Kleenex man! totally Kleenex!

I'm going to start ignoring you both now.
Those two are referencing 2090's kid from 2099 Month.

And apparently every Obelisk Blue girl has massive (tater tots.)
Well Hero I will take up the challenge to investigate your claims.

I love LittleKuriboh, and hope that he can get his personal issues sorted out. I worry sometimes that he'll hurt himself. That would be a tragedy :(
Dont worry, Martins not the kind to do something like that, he knows id kick his ass for it :P
I recall someone by that username on Gamefaqs, and he was an internet troll.
I remember watching GX as a kid on Cartoon Network. I still remember the theme song to this day
Yeah same with that theme song essentially.
I guess her name would be Yui? Card games in time?
Cardfight Vanguard has a spin off manga starring a girl with a deck no one else has except her.
THE DRAGON KNIGHT SLAYER64:Well Zarc was the final boss and other youtubers talking about arc-v says that Yuya is the antagonist and Yuzu is the protagonist because Yuya,Yuto,Yugo,Yuri are a reincarnation of a villain while Yuzu,Rubin,Lulu,Serena are reincarnations of the hero who is the professors daughter of arc-v’s evil duel Academy😅😤😅😅😅😎😅!!!!!!!!!!

um gx has an entire season undubbed where jaden fights satan and mr. t
I know. I mention it in the episode.
Same for 5Ds and Zexal. It's kinda why I gave up since I only watched the dubs
the last season of gx was probably the best.
***** then how did he watch the last season?
Oh, yeah. I remembered that. It was so ridiculous, yet so glorious at the same time.
"I've never actually played Legend of Zelda..."
Well now someone's somehow going to make you. I almost feel you poked that bear on purpose. XD
How can he never have played Zelda??? He should go do so Immediately!!!
"I can't believe I tricked people into paying me to play a video game! Patreon rocks!"
3:52 Yami's character kind of developed in season 4 after activating the Seal Of Orichalcos. But it is a very slim argument.
That was basically a retread of the Duelist Kingdom arc.
So let me see if I got this right. ancient Egyptians summon demonic creatures to do their bidding and battle for their amusement. And somewhere along the lines someone said this should be available for kids in the form of a fun card game because marketing. Probably the same Group of people who decided Ouija boards should be sold in the toy section. lol
Ouija boards were never cursed though...
Hasbro actually has a brand of Ouija boards. Look it up.

The 4Kids un-deathing to the torture dimension, that is an arguably worse fate if you think about it for more than 5 seconds, is pretty funny to me.
Sounds like episode of Doctor Who when The Doctor's mind was possessed by the by Cyber King. Winner takes all.

He really is a magnificent bastard.
I remember watching GX as a kid and I loved it and I wanted to be like Jaden so much that my deck was the elemental heroes. This review got me back into Yugioh, so much so that I've rewatched the first 2 seasons of GX and it's even better than I remember.

*fist-bumps* Because the dub is hilarious. There is a time and place for preferring anime in its original Japanese (Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura) but there are times when the dub actually ADDS to the experience. I would argue that YGO is one of those. For better or worse. XD
Hey, I like the dub of Sailor Moon. Well, in the same way as I enjoy Schumacher Batman.
Oh and Jaden's character development is one of those great qualities in the series. I've seen both dubs (Japanese and English) and yes, there are some differences in the series like the English dub toning down the violence in it. :)
And I just love how you say that GX is your fave Yugioh series of all time, which the same goes for me as well haha. xD
So Yugioh is The first abridged series in RUclips, Wow
CARD GAME MERCENARIES!!
So has anyone noticed how Nimue is voiced by Lupa instead of the usual VA...Just like what happened when the Entity was in the apartment and she specifically said the Entity's presence was messing with her functions?
...Kuribo was a tribble subspecies the whole time? headcanon confirmed!
+VoicesOfChaos that's true!
Only the original ygo had the same anime with the Manga!
for some reason, whenever they do a YugiOh manga, after the oriignal one, they decide to create their own story, plots, and characterization (i have read that Leo And Luna from the manga are creepy twins, almost like completely different chracaters compared to their anime counterpats, only sharing name and character design)
best feeling in the world is when one of your favorite reviewers shares the exact same thoughts about an anime that you watch and love

Wait, what does Pot of Greed do?
I'm sorry, I'm just not getting it. I'm gonna need some more people to explain it in 300 different ways
you see my good sir pot of greed is a spell card that can only be played during ones turn that one being the one who wants to use said card it says that you can draw 2 cards from your deck you see back in ancient egyptain days they used to play on stones however when london was discovered they discovered those games and made them into paper that can be taken from certain plants called papyrus plants and later on an american rich asshole found the very first orginal ancinet egyptain stone game and turned it into a card game you have to get 40 cards of which have spells and trap and monster of different kinds that make up a total of 40 card ore more thou it can only reach 80 thou having a big deck is not recommended and if you so happen to draw the card of a pot that is described as being greddy by the name of pot of greed itll give you a chance to draw two cards you see two is a rather small number for example if you thumb u p something and then pull up your index finger and have all your other fingers closed you just saw the number two and now to drawin while draw does mean no one wins in some cases in this cases it means to put your hand on your deck and take two cards from it and add it to your hand to add is to increase the amount of something for xample if you have five bags and you are about to put the sixth bag in the car then you just added the sixth bag to the trunk of your car but in conclusion, the card is banned anyway there is no real reason to know or explain what it does i just did it for fun
it an automatic win if you play it
you're all forgetting the most important function of pot of greed, if you're a character from the first season of yugioh, this card is automatically added to your starting hand unless you're either fated to lose easily, or win after 3-4 episodes of the same duel.
question, when did Linkara started to use the "Slifer Slackers" we will be back eyecatch?

Yu-Gi-Oh! rules of 2018: Play all your strongest cards on the first turn to end the duel by the fifth turn.
Most Hero cards bounce off each other making them absurdly strong if not dealt with quickly. Jaiden never really does that his Elemental Heroes.

Had no idea you were a Yugioh fan! Always cool to see big name Yugioh fans! Glad to know you have such diverse taste.
The Executive Producer is everything.
Huh, for years I never got the "Executive Producer" joke in YGOTAS. The more u know.
Fragments Beta I personally thought the joke was since Osiris was the death god the workers were basically calling their executive producer the Harvenger of Death.
Honestly it's worth it to go SLIFER NO SWIPING.
Osiris really doesn't work for that design though. Maybe I've just too used to that name, but Slifer just fits that unique design more than naming it after Osiris.
Obelisk is a giant stone titan
Ra is a huge flaming bird
Osiris...is a giant two mouthed dragon???
This is one of the many shows that define my childhood. Thanks Likara
5Ds is pretty good, but gets dark alot, Zexal sucks and Arc-V is pretty good. Be warned, as a GX fan there is a certain aspect you might not like in that one.
Also, when did Gendo Ikari join Duel Acadamy?
I am getting so tired of defending my favorite Yugioh series, Zexal

Zexal isnt My favourite but its not bad as Gx.
I absolutely LOVE GX it is my favorite yugioh season of them all. Jaden is by far my favorite protagonist. This is a treat and a half to watch, thanks Linkara.
I LOVE YUGIOH CLASIC AND I JUST STARTED DULING LAST YEAR AND I HAVE BLU EYES WHITE DRAGON THREE OF THEM
this is the first time I've watched this channel and I already fucking love it
Theory : Linkara is still sleeping since the events of last october. It would explain the non-sensical chess game.
I know, right? I think there is a check for about 4 turns (with the white bishop) in this episode, the queens and kings are switched in the first chess episode, and there are generally moves that do not make sense.
That's an adventure time level Shyamalan right there.
Frank Martin Ah, season 0
Frank Martin Origiannly YugiOh was for teen boys. Dark and edgy were par for the course
Best of luck to you!
The original Yugioh wasn't for kids and yami yugi usually tortured people after they tried to cheat. Heart of the cards isn't Canon and only exists in the 4kids dub. Also Jaden's catch phrases don't exist in the original either.
+Angel Majao
The original Yu-Gi-Oh! was ALWAYS for kids, it was serialized in Shonen Jump, which is a comic anthology magazine marketed to boys aged 8-12.
That is how it was introduced to me as. sorry that everything I have read about it the past several years is wrong.

So yeah. it is commonly called season zero.
My theory is that Yugi's hair looks that way because it sorta resembles the headdresses worn by ancient Egyptian pharaohs, which fits seeing as how he's possessed/haunted by one of these pharaohs.
tecksipport Yugi is the reincarnation of the Pharaoh
A good theory, but I must say, it only vaguely resembles the headdress.
Thank you! I've seen so many people bashing GX, it's great to find someone else who found it their favorite(though arc v is giving it a run for its money)
Have you even seen the first Yu-Gi-Oh! anime a.k.a. the undubbed anime where Seto Kaiba had green hair for some reason?
HA! I knew LittleKuriboh would have a cameo. I am at peace. For now.
@@ianr.navahuber2195 I'll check it out! I'm American, so is there a version with English subtitles?
@@hickorymccay2994 no sadly there isn't. but you culd do like anime and just watch it and hear if it sounds good or not
@@ianr.navahuber2195 Ok!
I know this contradicts my mega theory but I have another theory... or at least part of it:
What if when 90s Kid was in the future he found out that some great tragedy happened because of Linkara, he became paranoid and did something that maybe caused a shit ton of deaths or something like that, and maybe it had something to do with Comicron-1 so he got in contact with Lord Vyce to help him prevent it, and he sent the Cybermat to sabotage Comicron-1, he knew how to destroy the ship, so it makes sense.
I think it would be really cool if you did a video on the yugioh series' like you did with power rangers
Marnette Ryes I agree. He could make it a joint thing with LittleKuriboh.
The yugioh gx manga has a pretty much completely different plot and characterizations that the show. its basically the same in name only. I remember liking the manga much more as a kid.
Was the "a new hero/sandwhich" a Kelly's Heroes refrence?
As soon as he said "ancient Egypt" that's when you know some stuff is about to get crazy.
It will give you a LOT of that...
it's mostly because the sacred beasts can only be summoned by sacrificing 3 continus traps, for one. spells for another and fiend monters for the last
Don't give up on Comicron1 Linkara.
I like Yu-Gi-Oh, but I prefer Pokémon.
I geeked out so hard at hungry burger. The card I had multiples of but never the summoning for.
a dule school, how do you think the government responded to that idea?
Governments of the world: Eh fine we need another sport. *cue I'm the government song*
Linkara: Where the hell have you been?
90's kid: What do u mean?
Linkara: Not you YOUR SHOES!!!
Fox: lol
Nicktoons had its 25th anniversary in August.
So many anniversaries this year apparently.
terminator 2 is 25 and Aliens 30! Beauty and the Beast is 25 and The Second Doctor Who as well as the cybermen are 50!
Adult Swim is 15, The Muppet Show is 40
Kamen Rider have 45th, Super Sentai 40th, Ultraman 50th.
Good year to be a fan for so many series
Ugh
Things... develop as the story goes along. =)
I know the arc is over but he's playing against....GRANNY GOODNESS!!!!
Was counting the seconds until the Ancient Egypt joke. I expected it sooner. You held out longer than I gave you credit.
I can buy that a cybermat could cause that level of damage. With enough time a trickle of water can erode through rock.
