1 on 1 swordsmen win but the knights being faster clump up much faster and they form much denser front line and the swordsmen just dies as they come in range.
If it's 1 vs 1, the swordsmen win. But if they're in a group, the knights win because they're united, while the swordsmen lose because they're scattered and the ones behind haven't arrived yet.
You are right dear as we all see that swordsmen are stronger than any other unit in this game when 1v1 but in group type they are slow to reach the battleground at once that's why they loss
