Which one should I buy? I want good value for the money(of course). I mostly will be on lakes and the Gulf Coast down by FLA, AL and MS. I want to stay close to shore as my present boat is only a 17' Starcraft center console Mariner 170. I know zip about boating comm. Although as a former military aviator/pilot and later aircraft owner, I am familiar with Nav and Comm systems. I would like something that has the GPS ELT type locator ability and possibly the optional ability for some other mapping or auxillary electronics integrated with it, maybe a visual mapping system. At this point, maybe the the first radio will be fine for my limited uses.
