I like videos on stuff like this, especially if there’s some tie-in to a classic movie or game. This is probably something I’d stare at at an antique mall.

My father worked for TI at the time and I had one of these. I called it the "Moop again" because when you pressed the wrong thing it would say "Look again, try again" but "Look" sounded like "Moop"

A product of its era, I never saw one of those on this side of the globe but I did have a purple and gray one (I don't remember the name) that was for drawing on TV.
It was a time of innovation in toys.

Wow! I collect old TI toys & tech. I had no idea this unit existed. Learn something new every day. Great job preserving this example. Thumb up!

Leap Frogs ancestor.. Our family had one. Each insert holds down a combo of rubber grey buttons. I remember pressing down random ones with my finger without a card to get it to say random answers.

I would have loved one of these when I was a kid.

I had one of these when I was a kid, I remember it so well! I never knew there were additional cartridges though.

Thanks for sharing this. Me, I am fascinated. I do remember demo units of TI Speak and Spell, in Electronics stores, in the UK, when I was a kid. In the early 1980's

The teacher in you definitely came through here! What an oddball early-tech device.

I'd like to see more of this stuff on the channel. Information about these old relics is very hard to find. I don't remember things like this specifically but the robotic 80's voice reminds me of the good times.

I grew up with one of these. It was my older siblings. I will never forget "That is not the lion, find the lion"

I swear if it glitched it would ramdomly say something like red warrior needs food. Lol. Jk. I like the way it can recognize the different pages to tell what you are looking at. Also when i was 4 for my bday. I got something similar but looked more like a book and had a pen and it was all sesame street. I cant remember much but i wish i could see that toy now so i know more than what i remember.

A little bit for sure, but much earlier. TI was the king of educational products in the 80s.
