That's true, friend. Due to the financial difficulties that plagued Brazilians for many years, several consoles were launched late in Brazil, and all users have always treated their consoles very well. This generated a great affection for retro games, as many only manage to fulfill their childhood dreams in adulthood, buying consoles and games.

This was by far, my favorite video on your channel. At 54 years old, I grew up on Pong, then 2600, then Intellivision, 5200, 78000, and every console thereafter.
You are a great host, and was so nice to see all the Brazilian community come together to share a passion of retro-gaming.

My buddies dad who grew up in Brazil has brought back some genesis games recently. He travels to Brazil 3 months out of the years to run his remodeling company. His dad loves the genesis so much for the soccer games that he named one of his sons Genesis.

16:30 Sexta Feira 13 ( Friday the 13th) is how we used to call the game Halloween in Brazil. Halloween (the festivity) was actually not a thing in Brazil back then whereas Friday the 13th (the movie) was huge, and therefore more relatable for us. What's more, the character in the game really resembles Jason, so there you have it.

About the PS1 Greatest Hits, since the first Playstation was never officially released in Brazil, all we had here were imported consoles and cheap pirate copies of games. Back in the day, I never saw an official Playstation CD (other than the demo disc that came along with the console). One of the reasons for the PS (and the PS2 as well) becoming so popular in Brazil was due to this fact. You could have a lot of games on the cheap.

Unfortunately I totally lost my time playing Asteroids on an Atari 2600 at gaming area and we did not met 😁. But there's a good part on it. I'll have to attend to RETROCON 2025 and I hope you'd like to pay Brazil another visit.
