I don't see how you can integrate a musketeer without creating an unfair advantage for the player. How would you balance having high range and high damage? Probably through minimum speed and a cooldown for the basic attack so that he can't attack in the first round, but only every second round.
My favorite companion. He is a ranged unit but Brambles and Ent Wulf can also keep him safe if melee units get too close. He brings both utility and damage and is lethal in long but also close range.
the ranger was a must for me for a long time but I decided to change my strategy a bit and now my team is: Asra, knight and the arcane wizard. another usful thing about him is that his poison arrow deals the same amount of damage every time so you never gamble on it's damage and can rely on certain comboes with it.

I think there’s a ton of combinations for each level, so it’s more about your skill (aka your knowledge of each hero as they work together, and understanding of the enemies) But there are definitely easier combinations to play with in each level! The demon level certainly favors ranged heroes and minions rather than melee, imo
Enemies do walk. They have 2-3 movement usually, and sometimes even 4. If you've seen any of my LKR walkthrough videos, you can see how they pursue units there.

Tierlist vid would be great. You could rank all Leaders and all companions separate, and then bonus companions on other levels could be ranked aswell.
