The last band in which I served, and wonder viewing this Band, would anyone still be wearing my Cross Strap and Music Pouch, and, Pithe Helmet to this day? My first waist belt was issued to a Wilson in Chatham, and was re-issued to me in Deal in 1952. Wonder where all of my kit is nowadays?
Ernest Hartland What a job that must have been? I recently quick my Sea Cadets Band (although it is not even a fraction as good as you and the rest of the Royal Marines Band), it always felt great going out into big (-ish) audiences to play for! It must have been great playing with THE BEST marching band in the world!
I not only Marched, but, also played Symphony orchestral Concerts, as well as Military Band Concerts, and had the honour of playing a couple of Cadenzas while my late mother and father were in the audience. I have played all over the World.
+charlie snell I knew a Jan Snell, who hailed from Liskeard, would he have been any relation to yourself? Nice chap, and a decent barber as well as an instrumentalist. Sadly now deceased.
Brilliant. Thanks👍

To Others who posed the question, Are You For Real, well, apparently I am! Else I would not be answering your profound question, would I?
