    TIME STAMPS:
2:25 -- Krondon's South Central upbringing is discussed along with the Ben Davis clothing brand being a staple of west coast street wear and what Krondon meant when he called himself a "blip". They go on to talk about the legacy of Ice Cube, what he means to the infrastructure of West Coast rap, his providing the blueprint for those that came after him and Krondon's group Strong Arm Steady being a prime example who used Cube as the foundation of their inspiration, honoring him with a remake of his classic joint 'Steady Mobbin'.
9:40 -- Krondon speaks of his father as well as his mother being steeped in gangster life throughout his youth. He talks about looking for escapes from his turbulent upbringing and a blessing that came his way due to his albinism when he was bussed out of his neighborhood exposing him to a different set of friends who turned him onto music that spoke directly to the angst he was growing up with. He explains how Metallica became his babysitter as an escape from the deprived childhood hand he was dealt and details one of the most emotional days of his career when he was able to perform with them and share the impact they had on him early-on.
17:32 -- Krondon digs into how most of the racism he experienced as a youth ironically came from black people. He details the greatest reward that came from having albinism and talks about his process of evolving to the point of loving the fact that he is different. They go on to discuss the biggest job as parents being to leave your kids with no room for excuses, Krondon's book 'The Great Undoing' and it's theme of digging off the dirt that was thrown on you while growing up by the 5 P's (parents, partners, peoples, places, positions).
23:05 -- Krondon breaks down being brought up by a father who considered selling crack a family business. His father teaching him how to cook very early with his feeling that it was a survival tactic. Krondon speaks on relating to the main character of the series 'Raising Keenen', his father eventually going to prison, his mother still in the streets and his having to go live with his grandmother who became the saving grace and the only "good" in his life at the time. Krondon also goes on to tell about his father later becoming a devout Christian who in many ways is still not so far removed from his old self.
30:38 -- Krondon explores the story of how he was put on by the X-Clan when he was 15 years old. They discuss the significance of the club Hollywood Live of LA in the late 80s, Krondon searching for a legal hustle after his girlfriend got pregnant, the afrocentric vibes of those times having a huge influence on him with emphasis on the X-Clan who infused west coast funk style beats over conscious lyrics. He goes on to explain how handing them a tape after a show turned into the group flying him and his rap partner out to New York to record and eventually go on tour with them. He also expresses how grateful he was to his grandmother for allowing him to follow his dream.
38:25 -- Krondon speaks on how working as a promoter for multiple music labels became his college education to the industry. They talk about how working for Def Jam as an unpaid street promoter turned into his becoming the West Coast regional rep in a 5 year span, as well as the legacy of Kevin Liles and all the gratitude due to him for being the first to believe in Krondon. DJ Truly Odd, Chace Infinite, DJ Kalil as well as Defari get shout outs, Talib gives Planet Asia some high praise and they discuss the great heart of Phil Da Agony as well as the tenacity of Mitchy Slick.
45:59 -- Talib gives his take on Strong Arm Steady essentially being the equivalent of the Dipset on the West Coast. They discuss Talib getting to know Strong Arm though Xzibit and some of the most notable collaborations that the group was involved in. Krondon goes on to share some regrets about how he handled his time at Blacksmith Records working with Talib and Cory Smith and gives praise to Talib for understanding the Strong Arm vision early on. Talib gives his take on those years and shares how those were some difficult times for himself and Cory as well.
1:01:07 -- Krondon is asked about the ghostwriting that he's done over the years for icons such as Snoop Dogg and others. They go on to discuss what Snoop means to the West Coast, the awkward moment for Krondon when Snoop revealed that he had written some of his verses and Krondon being quite busy at that time writing for many West Coast artists and being so honored by those opportunities. He goes on to tell why working with Xzibit was so rewarding as well as answers if there were verses that he has regrets about giving away.
1:09:57 -- Krondon speaks on how the 'Whiteboiz' project he did with Shafiq Husayn was a dream come true as he digs into it's concept of educating listeners on how white and black have been interpreted throughout America's history. Krondon also gets into how thrilled he was to work with S-Roc, Strong Arm Steady touring with Hiero and a young Dom Kennedy telling Krondon how much he appreciated how Strong Arm was repping LA. They also discuss Shafiq being the master teacher, as well as Krondon's deep faith and his take on all religions sharing the same path of peace, love and truth.
1:21:57 -- Krondon gives his take on all of us playing roles throughout our everyday lives. He speaks on acting and rapping for him being one hand washing the other as well as his always having interest in the idea of acting but not knowing he was capable until he saw it for himself. He tells how Xzibit was a catalyst in his ambitions to pursue acting, how being noticed on Twitter got him his first audition, as well as how his doing a short film for Microsoft featuring Common gave him the valuable opportunity to pick the brain of a Chicago rap icon.
1:29:10 -- Krondon tells the story of how he ended up with the role of a lifetime starring as Tobias Whale in The CW superhero television series 'Black Lightning'. They discuss his being unaware of the Black Lightning story at the time, the four week process of getting the job and the idea of Tobias being an example of a hotep gone extremist. Krondon goes on to talk about some of the differences as well as the similarities of his and his character's relationships with his parents as well as the incredible vision of show's creator Salim Akil.
1:42:24 -- Krondon's work as the voice of Tombstone in the film 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse' is discussed as well as his experiences doing Comic-Con the last four years in a row being one of the best perks of his job. He also tells about a new movie he's been working on called 'Defiant' by a company called Legion M that has a unique approach of allowing fans to invest in films before they get released. He gets into the amazing true story of 'Defiant' about Captain Robert Smalls who was born a slave and went on to hi-jack a confederate ship and later serve a 5 term in congress.

Let me say this: MORE OF THIS. More brothers in hip-hop having intelligent discourse. More brothers showing growth and elevation in their personal lives. More willingness from brothers to give one another flowers and more awareness of who paved the path for you. I knew a little something about Krondon before this but I walked away impressed as hell. Such a gracious and pensive brother. Watch the measured tones he speaks in....ain't nothing coming of his mouth that hasn't been mentally weighed yet. Speaking with no filter is fine at times but I like to see folks consider their words before they speak more. As a man of a certain age who grew up loving this music, I love seeing my favorite hip-hop artists aging graciously. Bravo to the People's Party.

5 star interview probably the best I've seen on people's party. I had no idea that Krondons influence of West Coast hip hop resonated into the career he has. Which is incredible. The love and respect he has for Talib and Talib is unmatched I had no idea that Talib was backing his music until this interview. I have heard his music but never put the name to the face until I saw him on Black Lightning and one of my boys told me that's Krondon the rapper from California that wrote Arms and Hammers and wrote the search for Stoney Jackson classics in my opinion. He also played a hell of villain on Black Lightning he was one of the best villains I have ever seen. Didn't know Tobias was an extension of who he really was. Another Gem Jas and Talib this is why I tune in every week. Keep em coming.

When I first heard "In Search for Stoney Jackson" dropped, I was impressed. But, "Arms & Hammers" was a complete JEM! Every song was crafted just right. Universal music with in depth west coast lyrics. I was stationed in S.Korea at the time. I bumped that album on repeat for at least three months. Krondon, Phil Da Agony, and Mitchie Slick became my household favorites as far as sound and song structure. A lot of albums since can't hold a candle to that album. Also, the album with Stattik Selectah, "Stereotype" was equally on point! Love the music and the memories. I still listen to all three albums.

I just got put on to Strong Arm Steady & Krondon about 2 years ago cause of Black Lightning ⚡ & I love the albums they've done. To hear how intelligent 🧠 he is amazes me but it's not surprising.

He's the same age as me. I also met X clan at 16 professor X and Sugar Shaft came to Northern Virginia. I met the at Potomac Mills Mall. I wasn't rapping then. I started rapping the following year so I could have been apart of the black watch movement also like Krondon. Life is mystical. Wow! We have similar views. I grew up on hip-hop, punk and heavy metal also and I am black. I also was in the streets.
