The builders of pyramids in the different cultures in Mexico had an advanced knowledge of the sky and used that knowledge to know when to plant crops. Since they were not nomads they depended on having good crops to sustain their very large populations. They incorporated their knowledge when building their pyramids even. In the pyramid of Kukulkán in Chichenitza, the steps of that pyramid were designed so that every equinox the sun of the late afternoon creates the ilusión of a snake creeping down the North staircase. I recommend watching a RUclips video of that event. Unless, of course, you believe you’ll get sick by watching that.
