Correction: We mentioned that Sighisoara is the only remaining mideival fortress that continues to be inhabited in Europe. However, it's actually one of a few mideival fortresses that continue to be inhabited. Thanks for understanding as we continue to learn and do our best to provide you with accurate information :)
Pretty much,all the cities in Transilvania,are CITY FORTRESS. This cities has stuff like hidden tunnels and fortifications towers etc. Some parts of the city walls in Sibiu for example used for fortifications are still in place ….unfortunately,some were destroyed in time. Also inside of the fortifications,trade was done and manufacturing of goods….the name of those people building or creating stuff was MESTESUGARI…. Unfortunately,people are going for food and a walking into the commercial site….but they are missing the important stuff……the real history of the town. And I know or I used to know every single brick or stone from the old town….and I’m not exaggerating.

Considering your accent I would say that you are from US.. NO Sibiu was never the capital of Transylvania.. it is indeed an important one.. welcome to Romania and enjoy your trip
Thank you! Interestingly, according to Britannica, Sibiu was the capital city on two occasions. First in 1703-1791 and again from 1849 to 1865. www.britannica.com/place/Sibiu-county-Romania
@@SarielSolWho cares how large or small a city is? That's like the main capital being in Bucharest. The actual capital of Romania is Alba Iulia. Bucharest is just a place the Turks moved the capital to so it would be easier to reconquer in case they lost control.
That’s a good point. We focus on sharing budget tips for travelers, but we understand affordability can look different for locals. Thanks for sharing your perspective.
Romanians lost Transylvania and more to the Hungarians when they started invading Europe from Asia and, later the Hungarians invited the Germans to Transylvania to defend against the Turks. The remaining architecture in Transylvania is a reminder of how Romanians were oppressed for hundred of years on their own lands.
Nice promotion and in fact the prices for a meal at a restaurant are lower than in the rest of Europe, even compared to the USA (where the prices are very high and you have to add that tip). In Romania it is not mandatory to give tips like it is in the USA, and this is not standard. I hope you liked the Romanian food and we are waiting for you. Have a nice vacation!

You forgot about Mediaș which it has a fortress city
Yes, we were actually mistaken about that. There are several inhabited fortresses in Europe :)

A fost. Mai bine de 100 ani
@@thetraveling3you are right, it was. But it is smaller than Cluj or Brasov so not all people know it
Sibiu is the historical Capital of Transylvania and the informal cultural capital of Romania. What the hell are you talking even about?

@thetraveling3 yes I was right. 🤗
Sighișoara is not the only inhabited fortress in Europe, stop with this lie!!!!
Thanks for pointing that out! We'll address this shortly.
