I’m interested in purchasing a Tiger 800 XRT or XRX but I’ve been concerned that it wouldn’t be good for even light off roading and that an XC variant would be more wise. I’m planning on doing mostly on road riding, so after watching your eye opening video I think that I should have no worries. Enjoyed your video, stay safe.
Thanks for liking my video Brad! You wont regret getting the roadie version of the tiger - either XRT or the XRX unless you are going to do serious offroading. Just go a little soft on the front suspension as it does have a limit to take abuse. Happy riding mate!
Nice riding. Looked like a fun day. The only thing I wish the Tiger could have is a better skid plate mounting system. I tore mine off on a trail not too long ago. I just posted a video on it. Otherwise a fun bike.
Nice ride, im looking at the Tiger as my next bike, my only concern is low end torque, i noticed you stalled alot unless you have alot of revs, i normally pull away with less than 2,000 on my 600, but noticed you are going up in the 3k mark ?
Hello Wolfe, Tiger is definitely my favorite dual purpose bike. Being a triple it is the smoothest engine you will find in its class of bikes. If you go on very long rides, it will definitely be a lot more comfortable as it has zero vibrations which will in fact reduce the fatigue that one gets from more torque munching singles,V-Twins/Parallel Twins . Having said that, it definitely has lesser torque in the initial low range RPMs but it kicks in after 2.5k-3k. If you want a more punchy, powerful wheelie friendly bike then I suggest go for the KTMs which are lighter and have a massive low end torque. I stalled many times as I was running the bike in 'Road' mode instead of the offroad mode. In road mode the traction control was kicking in again and again and cutting off the ignition. I realized later that it was a big mistake as it will eventually burn the clutch plates. I would any day go for the KTM690 or even a 1190 adventure bike but it is not available in India yet. I suggest you take these bikes out for a day long test ride (small test rides will not give you much insight to the bike's behavior). Even though the tiger is not a truly offroad bike will still love it I am sure! :)
Well said Hiron. The triumph 800 triple was designed from the 675 triple motor out of the Daytona street bike. Triumph did a good job meeting the needs of off road riders developing their riding modes helping the motors ability to manage off and on road conditions. I found triumph’s triple to be a good mix for both on road and off road riding conditions. It is a true dual sport motorcycle. Too many times I’ll watch reviewers condemn the tiger for its triple while riding off road and not give the bigger picture of what the motorcycle has to offer. Both the 800 and 1200 tigers are terrific for providing the rider a sense of security, excitement, and rider comfort both on road and off road. I’ve ridden them all and kept coming back to the tiger for the smile it provides!!
Holy shit 3:14 I lost my shit! What would that incline be ? 35 maybe 40 degrees! :O! Lovely stuff man. Such awesome unseen content in facebook and all are busy watching shitty mainstream youtubers :/
it was not that bad. The bike can do a lot more than that. I will post another video on top speeds i reached recently on the highway. Watchout for more :)
This bike can handle off road and is great on road.
Brilliant, it was my first time offroad on my xrx last week as well, the xrx can do the job nicely
What do you think about the cast-wheels? Any fear they could break?
T. i dont think they will break if you do only light easy dirt roads

I had the same concerns, but thanks to this video the XRT looks like the best choice for me (80% road 20% light offroad)
Good to know as im interested in the new Tiger 900 GT
XRT is the choice..
