    You don't have to press jump and time it perfectly. You can just hold jump button while the up B animation is going and it will buffer jump. 💪🏽

      @Jay_Script Год назад +12

      Yea I usually mash the jump button and it'll buffer it either way. Another tip is to use the analog stick to follow ur opponent's DI and do the correct guess u think they'll do. If they DI away, use the c stick to input a back air to where they're going to. If DI up or in, c stick down!

    • @vfrmaverick
      @vfrmaverick 11 месяцев назад +4

      @@Jay_Script basically this, its an easy buffer from when byleth starts reaching oponent. Then switch finger to c stick while reading di for dair or bair. With up di you can also upair. havent figured out the % on the double upb-up air ladder but ive seen it done by some

    Tldr: it's based off of DI. If they hold in you get this combo and they die. If they hold out you use back air and they die.

    As a byleth main I go for a combo at 0% with this:
    Landing neutral air immediate forward Dash grab up throw up b buffer the jump buffer the down air with the c stick while holding towards the opponent or if you go for the side B also works easy 47% percent

    1: you as Byleth have to be airborne to have any chance of killing at low percents, even Pichu survives
    2: this is all di based and will only really work on bad players (but I’ll get into something after) as most people would di down and away at low percents, and anyone who doesn’t can usually recognize to di the dair
    3: Byleths up b is a move that requires conditioning and positioning to execute at a high level, let me get into that
    Most people are aware of Byleth’s up b being really strong, so how does Leo convert from it so often no matter the percent? If you don’t di specifically down away, Byleth can almost guarantee a side b or a punish in some way, side b is just the easy choice as it’s true and not tight at all. The most important thing is positioning though.
    Byleth up b will always send up/out behind until 50% (50 as of the time you get launched, so roughly 45-46% in actuality before getting hit by the initial up b), so here’s what Leo does
    Before 50%, Leo uses up b as a way to catch someone slipping at ledge or jumping from ledge, as well as an anti ledge trap tool, and realizes that at ledge, people want to di in, which is where he primarily goes for dair. He also reacts to di and will most often go for bair instead, which is also more plausible anywhere on stage as people will usually di out if they’re not right at ledge.
    At mid range, let’s say 50-110%, he uses up b defensively to position and mixup ledge options, and uses it offensively to catch horizontal, diagonal, or non-hitbox recoveries for early edge guards.
    At high percents, he only uses it near ledge again, defensively as said before, and if he catches someone at ledge, he understands people don’t want to die so they di in, which he follows up with an up air. When he rarely gets it in centre stage at high percents, he uses it to position, charge arrow, or predict di, as it is unpunishable no matter what at that point, but he will most likely go for an aerial, up smash, or down tilt instead

    • @gianz2066
      @gianz2066 Год назад

      Regarding point 2. Why would this only work on bad players? I thought it was a 50/50, won't they get baired if they always di out and don't mix things up?

    • @mysticsquirtle5109
      @mysticsquirtle5109 Год назад

      @@gianz2066 it doesn’t only work on bad players, but it requires conditioning and positioning. If I’m in centre stage I would much rather get hit by the bair and have no risk of dying, unless I’m at 0 and not elevated and have no chance of dying. Also while it is a 50/50 so to say, you can fully react to the di so it’s more a guarantee. Last thing though, especially at low percents, di down away makes the bair really tight to hit, and in the 40s, di up in/up away makes anything difficult where down away for the most part becomes completely safe

    • @mysticsquirtle5109
      @mysticsquirtle5109 Год назад +1

    as a byleth main, i have to say two important things:
    1:first i use to do the combo at 0 percent, because at 20-30 is almost impossible to do against DI out and i prefer up b to back air, because is impossible for me react to the DI of the opponent, and if i miss the down air, ALL the people in online punish me with an aerial.
    I use the combo to gain percent, not for kills.
    And not always you can choose the stage.
    2:Actually either up throw and up tilt to up b are true, even at 0 percent if you go to training mode, and the cpu is spamming airdodge, you will miss the up b, the same with the up tilt.
    sometimes it will connect, but no always.And the down tilt does work

    Does the sour spot kill off top work on heavies or super heavies? Or only the spike.
    Like i guess can they still be killed off the top or too heavy?

    • @aann
      @aann  Год назад

      it’s way harder to kill super heavies with it. Especially because it’s easier to get the sweet spot even if you’re going for the sour spot so you might end up spiking them by accident.
      still, it is technically possible if you’re high enough, maybe doing it on the top platform in battlefield, but I think the heaviest characters it can work consistently on are heavy mid weights like samus or terry

    As a Byleth main, please don’t go for this combo with good players. Good players not only know how to DI it, but will punish you severely for doing so.
    I recommend going for it on elite smash, maybe, or if you notice they’re not DI-ing out anyways
    But once you start playing in tournaments, even wifi ones, you’re going to lose your stock first lol
