It's not just cosmetic styling, it actually has 25mm higher ground clearance than the regular Ka. So for people who want to take it outside the city, travel on bad roads or do a bit of soft roading and don't have/want a bigger second car, it makes sense.

Completely disagree with the ‘pointless’ comment. This is a great car. I was used to driving a c-max, so feeling higher up in the driving seat in the active compared to the Zetec version made me feel closer to the c-max driving position. This is a great car!

Hello Lisa, thanks for watching. Thanks the comment, it's good to see you're enjoying the car. I can understand how a higher driving position may be something you crave, but I just find the idea of making a city car a faux SUV is a bit too far, kinda like jumping the shark. At least something like the Suzuki Ignis has the option of all wheel drive, and the Fiesta Active has the Slippery driving modes whereas the Ka+ Active gets neither of these things. I think this car is quite niche, and will have quite a select audience. Since I've reviewed this car, I think I've only ever seen one of the road.

I suppose it’s down to what else you compare it to as well and I’m sure you probably have a lot more experience of driving much higher spec cars so in comparison this would never match up. Compared to my c-max, it’s not as good but I think it’s great for what it is and affordable! X

@@LISAMBAKER Hi Lisa, I have driven much higher spec cars, but I've also tested cars such as the Vauxhall Viva, Suzuki Celerio, and the Kia Picanto, so I'm not a car tester that turns his nose up at more humdrum stuff 👍

My pleasure, Aaron! Interesting how you came to much the same conclusion I would have done. I think something like an MG3 is cheaper, faster, slightly better equipped and with a longer warranty (albeit with worse economy) than the standard Ka+ and the Sandero Stepway is much cheaper for those who need the mini SUV look in a cheap car.

In India, for 9000 Pounds u can get Titanium+ (top variant) 1.5 Diseal......only difference I can see is stearing wheel's wrapping

I also disagree with the pointless comment. I like the styling and higher driving position. I would prefer better mpg though.

Out of interest, would a standard Ka+ with the seat raised, not give the desired result? Small cars have been around for years, but raised-up versions have only been around for a few years or so (with the exception of the Polo Dune, which one could say is somewhat a trendsetter).
What I'm trying to get at is, if there was a strong desire/need for cars like this, they would have been made for years. Is that a bit of a cynical comment? Perhaps, but I personally don't see enough value in the concept of cars like this, almost seems like more of a marketing ploy as offering customers a worthy alternative.
Having said that, if there is a target market audience that is enjoying the benefits of this model then fair play.
Thanks for watching, apologies for the delay in responding to the comment.

The mpg does let it down a bit.

I like the styling. I am 63 and would find the slightly higher doors useful. Looking at buying a 2018 Ka+ active incl City pack, with 23000 miles. Asking 10k in May 2018 so holding its value well.

In India it is sold under the name "Freestyle". It is bang for bucks but ford aftersales in india is not good. But the car is pretty dope.

You don't have any knowledge about Ford aftersales. So keep your bullshit and useless opinion to yourself. Now a days Ford's after sales is wayy better than even suzuki. Dont post prejudiced one sided bias comment.

Didn’t we go through the whole faux suv thing 10-15 years ago.. don’t really see the appeal of them if I’m honest.

Hello kishore kumar, thanks for watching. I've not driven many Hyundais, and the ones I have drive are not comparable to this car, so I'm afraid I can't really answer your question.
