Hi Micah, wonderful video and congratulations on completing the climb to the summit. Your video captured my experience exactly. I rode the same route a week ago with a friend. I said the same thing you did at the finish...I was relieved to finally get back to pavement after the gravel and then I suddenly realized that it only got harder--much harder. The slippery, soft gravel up incredibly steep sections seemed easier than the pavement to the summit. And, for anyone who doubts it, the final 14 miles does indeed rise up over 7100 ft of vertical to a stunning 13,800 ft. There is very little O2 up there! Thanks for the wonderful video. I will show others to try to convey what the experience was really like. One final thing for viewers, the camera always flattens the grade of the road. So if it looks steep on video, it is much steeper in real life. Be well--John Vogel

Congrats to you! It was almost a year ago that I did it and I'm just now feeling like I could maybe do it again. Quite an adventure!

Congrats. Are there any spots to fill water bottles at or after the visitor center?

No, nothing at all after the visitor center. And nothing at the top.

No, I had someone meet me at the top with a Jeep and drove down.
