This reminds me of when I used to get regular calls from India with them trying to sell me stuff. I had made a one time purchase and they thought they would just keep calling me every week for months or a year or so. The funny thing is I just became best friends with the guy. When he would call I knew I was never buying anything again and I think he knew it after a few times, so I would just be like "Hey, whats up man? Hows it going? Hows life?" and we became really good friends and would have 30 to 40 minute long deep conversations about life.
I think he enjoyed it because it's better than just going through the cold calling list he had, and I enjoyed it because I always love taking what would normally be a negative experience like a spam call, and turning it into a positive one. I wonder what that guy is up to today. I wonder if I still have his number somewhere.

It isn’t when you go to sell a house that old debts will come out of the woodwork - it’s when you go to buy one. The hard inquiry by a mortgage or finance company will trigger judgment-holders to believe you may now have adequate assets to make a significant purchase. They will either start trying to hit you up for the money again, or, perfect their judgment into a lien secured against any non-exempt real property you own - putting it at risk of foreclosure without repayment.

Although in matts defense, they cant drag you out but they can get a warrant against for not appearing in court and theh cam take your stuff if you do not appear. The only problem is they have to appear in the jurisdiction wjere the debtor is. If the debtor doesnt have any money, there is all losses. Its nog worth it for these companies to go through that hassle
