@@badenpabalate6441 thats why it was in quotation marks, it's not short to the average but in the VB community, hes considered short for an outside since a lot of other outsides are 6'8-6'10
Thank you for this. Any little bit of info is helpful to try....I need all I can get! Working to improve my technique to take full advantage of my potential. Been watching you for a few weeks now. Subscribed today after this vid! Love me some vball.
I notice some volleyball players, for example Yuji Nishida or Clay Stanley, will drop their hitting arm early during takeoff, in order to take a bigger swing at the ball. I think they may even be relaxing the hitting shoulder before they are completely off the ground? I'm curious on the mechanics of how this arm drop works with the jump, and whether it hinders the hitter's vertical by any significant amount.
I know it's not the same jump technique since the goal in the sports are different, but would love to see you look at some figure skating jumps and explain maybe how they differ from vertical jumps!
Basketball jumps please!! The ones with the timing of ball dips and the jump for dunking. Interesting to see it broken down on the relationship on dipping the ball before the jump occurs
Thanks for the breakdowns! When I started to watch your videos I was able to jump 4 centimeters higher! Can you pls do a Yuji nishida breakdown? He is just 180 centimeter(5'10) and can jump super high!
wide stance is okay as long as your chest is back over your plant leg (first foot). Wide stance only becomes a problem with the block foot is weak or the body shifts forward too far.
Please, break down Mireya Luis technique next. She is considered the women with the biggest vertical jump in volleyball (she is 175 cm tall and she had a spike reach of 339 cm)
@@jumpguyty I tried it all... For months. I'm not far at all, I'm 6 foot and 64 kg, then I can squat like 50 times with 25 kg and I'm the fastest in whole team. And by far have the best jumping technique still I can't jump at all, like I'm barely touching the backboard😓. And they jump higher even though they don't train
@@jumpguyty I would love to, but I'm only 15 and I don't have money on that. Though, I couldn't find it anywhere but while jumping I know you have to do arm swing with relaxed arms for better swing. But what about legs? Core? Do you have to relax while jump or just put all of the power in you're body to jump? My friends say they just jump so they can't tell, well if I just jump I can't touch the backboard
@@N-Ice_ at only 15, don’t stress about your Vertical! You’re an infant in jump progress. You’ve done some great things so far, but to put it in context, I had a 48” vertical and I didn’t attain that until 25 years old! You have MUCH growth to go!
That plays a role in being and effective attacker, but has 0 bearing on how technically sound of a jumper he is. I’m more interested in his jump mechanics.
Yuji Nishida of Japan's National team
