Thanks for sharing your story. I had surgery cause of CES a week ago and I have a one month old newborn and this is the first positive story I found online. I really hope I'll regain at least something back.
Thank you for your video. I am recovering from CES now for 4 months. I went from bodybuilder to hardly walking making this very difficult. You don’t see any positive results from this syndrome anywhere. I have really been struggling with this and thankful I came across your video.
Your video gave me big hope. I'm 46 years & was diagnosed with CES in Dec 2023. I underwent surgery on the 4th day after I was convinced that it was an emergency. But the recovery has been remarkable. I got rid of the catheter in Feb 2024 about two months after the surgery & I have started walking on my own without much assistance. The Bowel issue has almost 90% resolved. Although the urine passed with little effort, I found a remarkable recovery in less than 4 months. Overall, I see myself pretty much recovered.
18 months into recovery and I am able to use forearm crutches and travel about 300’. This has been the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. I watched all the videos and am encouraged by your recovery. I have given up most meds and am trying to work through the pain. Thanks for sharing your story!!
I went through CES surgery in January 2024, curently suffering bowel n bladder control issues, saddle anesthesia. Doctors said we dont have any medicines of sensation lost. But i m happy to see Ur recovery progress. It gives me support to fight against it. Thank u brother
Thank you so much for sharing your story. It’s been almost 3 years and I lost a lot with CES. I’m so happy that I don’t have to use a wheelchair, walker, or my leg braces. It has taken time but God has been with me the entire time. I’m so grateful and thankful to God for his grace and mercy.I will continue to fight because I want my whole life back.
@@dennisafriyie8674 Good afternoon, yes I had/have foot drop. I work leg braces that were made and measured for me and I also attended therapy. I don’t use the braces anymore and I do work a job full time. I have a lot of nerve damage and it affects my legs and feet. I keep going praying and walking. I can’t run but I can walk sometimes after being on my feet to much when my legs are tired I can feel when the foot drop is coming where my leg can drag. At that point I must rest get as much rest as you can.
Thank you for sharing your story with us. Very inspiring. I had CES and had to have emergency surgery. I am 8 weeks post-op and doing well. I hope to recover as much as possible. Thank you for making this video and I’m so happy for your recovery
Thank you for making this, my first cauda equina surgery was in 2015 and second one was year later. The second surgery I had drop foot after surgery, I had physical therapy for half a year. There is life after this.. just being more gentle with your body.
Hi Sam, thank you for sharing your story. It’s so inspirational hearing your advice on remaining positive. You’re very wise. Thank you for motivating me on my recovery from CES 🙏
A person goes through a period of grieving after you are injured and you know your body will never heal enough to let you live the life you used to and wanted to. I think that is the hardest part. I have back problems. Haven't been diagnosed with CES but my surgeon said my spine is a train wreck from one end to the other and a textbook example of what can go wrong with a spine. I have come to terms with it but now my brother has almost exactly what I do except worse. The MRI reading did mention the CE was somewhat impinged at C3-4 I think. I hope he can find some help so he can have more function. He's a great guy who has had a rough life. As a kid he had asthma and nearly died several times. He had a son who got into drugs and ended up taking his life. He has2 grandsons he loves so much. So he needs to be able to be a part of their life. Been watching videos to learn as much as I can. Hope all of you find at least some relief from pain.
Thank you for sharing your story and I am so happy you have recovered so well and it is very inspiring to listen to you. I have recently been diagnosed with CES and had to have an emergency operation. Luckily I was much less effected than you and making a quicker recovery, but it was scary at the time and of course the worries about how I will be long term so it is very good to watch your videos and see how you continue to improve.
Hi Sam, I have saved your video for inspiration. On June 1, 2022 I had a back operation that went wrong. I am 7 months working with physical therapists and at home. I'm so impressed with your recovery. Could you tell me about your physical regimen to recover? Did you have a trainer or go to a gym? Is there anything you found particularly helpful? Also I was wondering if you still have drop foot and if you still wear braces?

You will keep recovering its been 13 years for me and lm basicly back to normal again, still have some more healing to finish off. I know how hard it can be l know how you feel.
