I did not see it live,but I have seen the Raiders mascot in gulf a cheat leader in his mouth.
The Toronto Raptors mascot face planning on the floor is by far one of the funniest mascot fails in my opinion. The tail deflating after he falls makes it that much more hilarious too. Poor guy.

Mascots are seriously underappreciated/underrated. They make the game sooo much better!
When Youppi, the Montreal Canadiens’ mascot, turned 40 years old, mascots from both the NHL and MLB (Youppi started out as a baseball team’s mascot before the Habs took him) celebrated in various ways. Fin, the Vancouver Canucks’ mascot, stuffed a Youppi plush in his mouth while Wild Wing lit candles stuck in a plate of poutine before pouring maple syrup on it. The funniest, though, was the Red Sox’s mascot Wally The Green Monster, who decided to give Youppi a present- a Bobby Orr jersey!

Back in 2010, Bango, the Bucks mascot did a backwards flip off of a 20 foot ladder while dunking the basketball. Talk about insane mascot moment.

Ouch, considering the size of those talons I bet it wasn't pleasant to have Taima land on you. Also, I find it odd that they have a hawk for the live mascot despite the fact that sea hawks is another name for osprey. At least it wasn't a harpy eagle, their claws are the size of a grizzly bear's.
How could yall not inlcude the Brook & Robin Lopez Rivalry with mascots or the Spurs Coyote trying to catch bats loose in the arena lol
They should bring that hawk to the benfica stadium to learn how its done

Same here! I’m was a fan of our local baseball team, and I would often get free tickets to several different home games through my school!
I DO however, have an AMAZING souvenir! It’s a MINT CONDITION Teddy bear sized YOUPPI plushy with the sole of his right foot autographed by the BIG ORANGE GUY HIMSELF! I had it since I was ABOUT 10 or YOUNGER! You would think that it would be in pieces by now, after all this time! NOPE!
I was told at a young age that if you’re careful with your belongings they will last forever! Well, I KNEW and understood that, that plushy was VERY special since it was signed! I kept it sitting on a shelf untouched in my room, and it’s been there ever since! Ok, it’s OBVIOUSLY a bit dusty, but nothing that a little vacuuming or a wet cloth won’t do!
By the way, this is the ONLY autographed item that I own!

One I remember was from 1988 when the Maryland Terrapin mascot had his arm broken in 3 places by the University of Virginia Cavalier mascot during a football game. This was back when the two schools had a heated rivalry in the ACC.

This was a great list! I loved it. But I have a question. Was the security guard at 3:35 the same as the guard that did a dance-off with Orbit, the mascot for the Houston Astros to the MJ song "Slave To the Rhythm," on the RUclips video called "Work It Willis?" That guy did a phenomenal dance that included some serious MJ moves and a flip after which he stands up, straightens his uniform and salutes military-style, making me think that he's a retired serviceman. Any idea if this guard maybe changed cities (and teams)?

Which, for the record, I do believe absolutely jinxed the Heat against the Nuggets.
The Nuggets pay their mascot more than any other team, and the Heat sent their mascot out into a fight and to the hospital. And from there, the 1-1 match-up became a 4-1 slaughter.

It’s a shame you are very North American in this list. Swansea City’s mascot Cyril The Swan was infamous in the late nineties for his antics. He once had a fist fight with the Millwall mascot, ripping his head off and punting it into the crowd.

There was a time the mascot of the Ohio University Bobcats attack Brutus the Buckeye.
He "dotted his i". One of my all-time favorites.
The Jazz Bear would regularly slide down the stadium steps head first. He’d also taunt the ref with a fire extinguisher.

What??? No Krazy Krab??? You missed the best one! Before the SF Giants had Lou Seal, they had for a part of one season only, the anti-mascot, Krazy Krab. He was so hated, fans brought sourdough bread to throw at him. He was played by The Unknown Comic. I'm really disappointed he wasn't included. Boo!
