This is the “transition model” that is part FJ40 F series and part 2F. The hood and side louvres are from the 2F model, whilst many other pieces are from the run out F series parts bin.
I used to own a '69. This is a beaut but I would never take it off road. Those big tires would make short work of the paint job when they picked up rocks and pebbles but sure nice to look at.
Crank on '69 F engine no 1 3/4 " nut to hold harmonic balancer on crank, hmmm, nobody in the '70's had 6, but I did. Not a single thing on engine imported, chevy parts instead.
Great price at auction, I paid $900 for my '65 FJ-40 in '76, still f*** it up when I drive it, Lee Majors put dent windshield frame, 'Fall Guy' TV series,'81, still mine! nt windshield frame
Thank you! I actually purchased this vehicle from a local builder and then we sold this FJ at Barrett-Jackson auto auction for $110,000. Was a special vehicle.
A few mistakes made, the bezel and roof should always be white, stainless steel hardware should never be used and the aluminum wheels are a no go. of course, anybody can build their vehicle how they want to, but these key things will affect the value in the future negatively.
I could not agree with you more, someone asked if I had sbc in mine, looked disappointed when I said "No" but park mine in 4X4 low against tree, watch all 4 tires spin, 6 cyl torques like no tomorow, no joke, best ever 4X4!
It won’t do nothing but eat.🐖 a rooting tooting sob. Did that yr have a steel plate under the belly to protect everything? I thought all Land Cruisers did.
Some had pipe below mentioned skid plate, was first item to upgrade( please skip V8 swap) Just get '64 or newer, old FJ models use obsolete parts, I own '65 model for 48 years and counting!

@@troyt5564 well good luck building yours the way you want. Happy ours sold for over $100k and made a significant profit! Thanks for checking us out!
Thank god you didn’t shove a small block Chevy in it.

Beware the term here, "Brand New". Never the case
This was built better than “brand new”.... and the price it sold for must have proved it!!
