After many tumultuous years - I recall they seemed finally at peace - emerging strong enough to tell their story…
It was their first ever interview together…& sadly, perhaps their last…

What a wonderful interview. I've been watching Simi's interviews of various celebrities. And they're so binge-worthy. It is a way of getting to know these actors in a very genuine, real way that often is hard to discover through the exterior that they obviously have had to create due to the media/paparazzi. Simi clearly does the research and asks well thought-out, deep questions at the right time with a smoothness that I've barely seen in interviews. From the topics she tends to ask of these actors, it is clear she must have endured hardship in film industry as well. If an actor feels their voice isn't being communicated accurately or genuinely through media, this interview platform with Simi seems like a great way to just have a breath and be just themselves. I wish it was without consequence but I guess every interview still holds a consequence to them. This is an interviewing style of dignity and thoughtfulness that really should be an example to this community and other interview shows.
Even me, I watch offlate...these Simis Rendezvous sounds musical and find solace to watch amongst all other ga ga ... so noisy shows...
Sarika's mother was an abusive, toxic narcissist from whom she escaped with nothing at the age 20. The mother stole all the money Sarika made working from 4 years till 20. When she married Kamal Hassan, she traded one authoritarian narcissist for another, which culminated in her attempted suicide & eventual divorce. God gave her beauty, but did not give her love or peace.

Both were child stars but on extreme ends of life. One was so privileged that he could work in films, the other was so underprivileged that she had to work in films. Life is strange!

Apart from watching for subject actors, i also watch this clip for Simiji. How sophisticated stylish geaceful manner she conducts the interview, never embarassing the guests even when asking question on their personal life. Not too much harsh browsing nor sarcastic remarks.I wish all interviewers follow her style. very pleasant experience watching Simiji.

We have such strong independent women amidst us to inspire generations to come. Sarika had a previledged life no doubt but she was not snobbish or pretentious. A movie should be made on Sarika' s life.

Its like you have many legends in Indian cinema,but only one Kamal Hassan.I used to wonder about his acting skills and his versatility and always try to reason it out thinking,"is it that just he is gifted or made up talent which he learnt".Now I have the answer.It was his struggle in life which continued to nurture his acting skills,along with the fact that he was gifted enough already.I think thats whats the reason.It just shows how a couple who struggled together can always inspire,let that be any.They leave their mark,eventually.
