I only know this song from Ghost, and for the longest time never knew it was an actual song. Thought they made it up as an annoying song just for the movie 😄
I absolutely love watching Peter Noone watch himself perform 50- odd years ago, with a huge smile on his face! He got as much of a kick out of it as Jay and Amber did!
Best thing growing up in the late 50s and 60s was the music. We got to hear it all and it kept a lot of my generation grounded when times were so turbulent.
Their first big hit was Something Tells Me I'm Into Something Good. If you weren't around in 1965, you might have laughed to it in the Naked Gun movie.
In Ghost 1990, Patrick Swayze sang this to Whoopi Goldberg. His character's name was Sam. The hired bad guy's name was Willie. Both names are in this song.
I was about 11 years old. Was madly in love with Peter Noone and I loved HH's music. Got a turntable and a Herman's Herrmits album for Christmas that year I think 1966 and I still have both. And I still love Peter Noone. My Dad finally let me get a kitten around that time and my very best friend 's cat had just had kittens. So I picked a beautiful orange one and of course named him Herman. The whole family loved him and we had him about 18 years, I love Herman the Hermit and Herman the cat to this day and I always will. Thank you Rob and Amber and Peter for giving all of us this amazing gift of memories of a younger time.
Do yourself a favor and see Peter in concert if he comes near your town. He is an unbelievable performer. I've seen him many times and going to see him again on May 3rd.
What a memory jolt. When I was about ten years old I used to sing this with the neighborhood kids. We would scream it over and over again. Loved that memory.
A blast from the past for me. I owned four copies of this song as a kid. I kept wearing them out. This group was one of my inspirations to play the guitar and 58 yrs later, I’m still making music. Thanks for reacting to this one and thanks to Peter and Herman’s Hermits.
You Will All Enjoy this Song. Sang it with everybody on The School bus . I was in 2nd Grade , I'm now 68 yrs old TO MUCH FUN🤣💯👍✌️💗✨🙏✨. " JUST LOVE MR. PETER NOONE ". (JACK'S WIFE)
Herman's Hermits were bigger than the Beatles and the Rolling Stones the year I'm Henry the 8th I Am was released, in 1965. Peter Noone hung out with the likes of The Who while on tour. Henry was so.popular that, in 1967, at age 7 years, I and kids my age sang the song. It was so easy to memorize. Hermania was bigger than Beatlemania for 1 year. That's a testimony to how popular they were!
How wonderful to have Peter Noone participate! I wish you'd done "No Milk Today", a song I knew in the sixties and liked, but not more than many other hits. Then I listened to it again, fifty years later, and I suddenly realised it was a masterpiece!
Now Kiddos..... how did you all land All of these very very Big Time Artists to be guests on your reaction channel !? It really doesn't matter 😊im just passed freaking out and you all deserve it and more.
From LONG ago, I remember reading that his mother would only let him go to NYC to be on the Ed Sullivan show if Ed would promise to take Peter to Mass on Sunday
The Rolling Stones were at #1 with "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" and then this song knocked it out of the #1 spot. I think I read somewhere "Henry VIII" actually has more verses, but Peter only remembered the first verse and then ad libbed "second verse, same as the first."
My Dad loved Herman's Hermits. Grew up with their music. Great to see Peter looking so good & still going strong. Patrick Swayze had fun with this song in Ghost.
You have to love Peter Noone, he's such a gentleman and a great entertainer! I've seen him in concert a few times and he has a lot of fun, he sounds just the same as he did when he was a teenager.
I'm so touched to hear the story behind this song and that it was a childhood memory for Peter. I remember my mom singing it to me when I was little. It's interesting how things in life come full circle.
WOW!! You've guys have MADE IT!!! You actually got my boy "Herman"!!! I saw him in concert a little over 30 years ago. He's as much of teenager now as he was then. And he was literally one when this was released in '65...he was 17. You guys are really HUGE now! How'd y'all get him? I'm so proud!! 👍🏾♥👍🏾😁
I love this song. I remember when It came out. Thirty years ago, a friend brought us a Cocker Spaniel that needed a home. We already had seven animals, so he became Henry the eighth of course.
A great guest. ❤ I’ve seen Peter in concert several times. He’s always having fun on stage. And he’s right everybody waits for this song to sing along.
Peter Noone is such a gem! I love listening to him on Sirius radio and loved The Herman Hermits as a teenager! Awesome that you have him on your show! Thanks, Peter, for all the great music!! ❣❣❣
My Mom absolutely loves Peter Noone! She has gotten all her records signed by him at appearances. She always says when she was a teenager that she loved The Beatles but dumped them as her favorite when Peter and Herman Hermits started becoming hot in America! My Mom is not big on watching You Tube so I am going to show her this video! Love your RUclips channel!
We used to sing this song on long car trips as kids, so fun to hear it again, Peter has a great sense of humor & is like an encyclomedia of music knowledge!
I'm so happy that you FINALLY got around to this song! I ABSOTIVELY POSILUTELY LOVE Henry the Eighth I Am and Herman Hermits! It's such an HONOR that you have had Peter Noone to collab with and I have been definitely enjoying it. It was such a treat to see Peter all these years later. Looks like he's really doing well and still touring. It makes my heart sing when I see the artists that I grew up loving who are still out doing their music and with channels like yours, young people like you two are finding all these treasures from days gone by. Ahhh, the memories of sock hops in the junior high school gym and dancing at the high school proms all in the 1960's and now it's so easy to get this music on RUclips! For us old Boomers, it's nothing short of AMAZING! THANK YOU, Jay and Amber and especially thanks to Peter Noone for taking time to make an appearance like this! Love to all from KANSAS! 🌻 🌻 🌻 ❤❤❤😂😅
What fun listening to Peter Noone give behind the scene tales about his songs and band! And yes, every time I heard the song come on the radio I'd start singing along - and still do to this day!
I’m a Beatles, Rolling Stones kind of guy but I always liked Herman’s Hermits. I met Karl Green, Derek Lekenby, and Barry Whitwam at Flanigans in Memphis years ago. Nice guys every one.
I was at DU stadium Denver back in 1965 and saw Peter Noone at the Hermits. It was great , I was 13 , the warm up group was the Green Men. Thanks for having him on He is a wonderful person. Thanks for the memory.
* Jay & Amber * Great interview with Peter! You should also reach out to Micky Dolenz, the last surviving member of The Monkees. I bet he would appear with you and he sang lead on so many of The Monkees' biggest hits.
Wow, what a great surprise to see Peter himself on your show! I'm 64 years of age, huge fan of 60s music, first time I ever heard this song it was not from Herman's Hermits, it was from a garage band consisting of three brothers who lived next door to us. It wasn't until a few weeks later that I finally caught it on the radio. Fun song! And I had no clue it was from 1916!
Peter tours constantly. He makes it to the upper midwest where I am every summer with a bunch of classic 60's and 70's performers and bands such as The Buckinghams and the Crying Shames. You should keep an eye out for the show.
He sings that tune 'Listen People' in front of a live audience et the first thing he says is hello to his mother et then he tells her how happy he is that she is there. So sweet. So charming.
2 things from my memory: I got a weird little music player when I was about 10 years old, and got 6 tiny cartridges. One was Herman’s Hermits & had 6 songs, including “Henry” & “Mrs. Brown”… which was my fave. Also, when I was in 6th grade I had a really progressive teacher who gave us ‘History trivia’, ‘spelling bee days’ and… the first karaoke I ever experienced: everyone had to pick a song, bring it in and lip-sync in front of the class. So, Peter, the Hermits, and Henry (as well as my innovative 6th grade teacher) broke the ice for me to eventually become something I loved - a singer! Thanks!
Oh wow! You all! This guy is an icon! Some of my earliest memories are hearing them on the radio. I love, "There's a Kind of Hush"! I hope you review it! So proud of my Okie babies!
What an amazing person Peter is doing this for your channel. You are blessed. I remember watching him on The Ed Sullivan Show on tv, with the rest of North America.
This group is the English equivalent of pure joy. Wonderfully crafted, fun pop songs! Plus he is such a cutie and still is to this today!!! That accent also floors me every time, too! From Mahn...chestuh!
Peter still has his boyish look, always a beautiful smile and nice guy.
IAM crushing so much!!! XooX
How wonderful you got Peter on a fellow mancunian. He has hardly aged a day. Lovely man x
I am crushing too! Loved him then & still love after all these years. I could watch & listen to him for hours.💜
Cute lasts forever :)
I loved how Patrick Swayze's character in "Ghost" used this song to torment Whoppi Goldberg's character until she agreed to help him....😂
And Lucifer in Supernatural
I only know this song from Ghost, and for the longest time never knew it was an actual song. Thought they made it up as an annoying song just for the movie 😄
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yesssss! Came here to make sure this was said. Thank you!
Thought about this the last time I watched Ghost... The song says she didn't have a Willie or a Sam, Willie Lopez? ... Sam Wheat?
He's 76 years old. Amazing.
Peter Noone, what a great sport and a great soul! Hats off!!
I absolutely love watching Peter Noone watch himself perform 50- odd years ago, with a huge smile on his face! He got as much of a kick out of it as Jay and Amber did!
And I still sang along
Props for getting Peter Noone on your channel. Mad respect to all three of you and thanks for letting a new generation hear the Hermits!
🇬🇧 Peter still looks fabulous at 76!! Whats your secret Peter?! ❤🎼🎶
He is so upbeat and fun!
Absolutely fantastic to have it introduced by Peter "Herman" himself! The history behind the song was wonderful to hear.
This was hysterical. Mr. Noone's response makes it funnier!!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Peter Noone is so delightful! What a treasure!
Got that guitar players autograph in 65. In DC
Think name was lek.❤
Lord! I had such a crush on Peter back in the 60s! How exciting for you to be able to interview him. What a lovely man.
Peter's smile hasn't faded a bit over the years! Still a young man! Love what is going on, keep going!
Best thing growing up in the late 50s and 60s was the music. We got to hear it all and it kept a lot of my generation grounded when times were so turbulent.
This is the song that Patrick Swayze sang at Whoopi Goldberg in "Ghost" over and over and over, to drive her crazy enough to help him.
It always amazes me me how young Peter looks. A proper nice guy.
Their first big hit was Something Tells Me I'm Into Something Good. If you weren't around in 1965, you might have laughed to it in the Naked Gun movie.
❤️❤️
I thought that was The Monkees.
That song was played on many movies if I remember correctly
In Ghost 1990, Patrick Swayze sang this to Whoopi Goldberg. His character's name was Sam. The hired bad guy's name was Willie. Both names are in this song.
He's such an enjoyable spirit
At this rate, next thing we know, they'll be reacting to "Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport." 😆
OMG..I hadn't thought of that song since I was a young, young boy...thanks for the memory...
Or perhaps, 'Does Your Chewing Gum Lose it's Flavor's.
I loved that song!

Peter and the Hermit's were a big part of my childhood in the 1960s, sure nice to see him again, thanks guys!
My cousins and I used to do lip syncs of all the Hermits songs and were big fans of them and not the Beatles!
Oh Yes!!
I’m Henry the Eighth!!!
Hope you recognize it from the movie “Ghost “!!
Awesome to have Peter!
Do yourself a favor and see Peter in concert if he comes near your town. He is an unbelievable performer. I've seen him many times and going to see him again on May 3rd.

I love 60's and 70's performances because they would put up sets on the stage
Congrats again. If anyone know how to get in touch with Richard Carpenter. Please ask him if he wants to comment with Jay & Amber.
That would be amazing for them to get Richard Carpenter!
What about Sir Barry Gibb, I would love to see Jay and Amber discussing a song with him.
@@wendycs5398~ Jay would be on top of the world if he has a chance to interview Barry Gibb...

YES! I'm Henry the 8th! I have loved this song so much since back when I was a kid.
My dad had his own version, a mocking parody of his stepmother (who was always married to one widower or another) called 'I'm Yetta the Eighth I Am.'
😂😂😂😂
I am going to have that song in my head for days. I always do.
It’s an amazing song 🎵 awesome to see Peter !
Indeed amazing how bad it is

Peter is a real genuine person, I shook his hand in Branson Missouri.
I saw him perform in Boston in the early 90’s. It was one of the most fun concerts I had been to.
I’m 62 and I have loved this song all of my life. I sang it when I was a kid, and I still find myself singing it at times. ❤

Peter Noone?!?! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Absolutely awesome dude!!!
Yes, we all sang that song over and over! So nice to hear from Peter Noone!
OMG. That was one of my first 45 records. Ha ha. Wow, a real blast from the past. 😂
Peter tours constantly. He makes it to the upper midwest where I am every summer with a bunch of classic 60's and 70's performers and bands such as The Buckinghams and the Crying Shames. You should keep an eye out for the show.
I love that! I just sang every single word! I had the biggest crush on Peter!❤❤
He sings that tune 'Listen People' in front of a live audience et the first thing he says is hello to his mother et then he tells her how happy he is that she is there. So sweet. So charming.
Love this song.
