Depends on your passport but as long as you have a visa you can leave and come back. For certain countries like USA, no visa is needed and you can enter freely
I had two layovers here, first one was about 18 hours I'd say and second a little longer at around 26 hours! Planned it like that to be able to explore a bit. And yes, metro is pretty good for everywhere in Qatar - only used Uber to make getting to the airport a little easier
hello! you can take the metro there for sure from the airport. Everything is fairly close together so probably less than a 30 minute ride. I'm not sure if the prices have changed but they were pretty affordable
hi :) did you have to re-check in your bag to vietnam or did they take care of the connection? i have a 14hr layover coming up and i was wondering if i can leave the airport without checked bags
Hey there! If it's still working, you can check the website and they have some promotional materials about it. It was kind of confusing but you can either get the hotel when booking if Qatar Airways site lets you, or you will get a flight confirmation number and you can use that to book through the website. You must make sure you qualify for the promotion though by having a layover for a certain number of hours
I have a 7 hour layover and planning to book a tour of DOHA any tour company suggestions? And will I need a visa to be out the airport for that short period of time?
Depends on your passport! Where are you coming from? As for tour company.. there were ones at the airport I was considering from Qatar+ I think. I wanted to try them but was there for a longer time so decided to explore all the places myself!
Hey, I got 8 hours of transit in Doha in my next flight to India from Europe. Will get free hotel for that or do I need to just stay on airport? Thanks in advance
Hey hunter, I think 8 hours may qualify you for a normal hotel near the airport if you book both legs with Qatar airways. For the 5 star hotel, the layover needs to be longer but I would check to see if you can get a free hotel near the airport
Hi!! How did you get this tour? I have a transit in Doha from 11pm to 7am and I looking for some information about night tours but I can’t find anything 😓 do you know anything that can help me? Thanks a lot!
@@gargi_s507 @gabriellasoares243. Any luck finding an overnight tour? I have a stop over in two days time. Alternatively, any other fun thing to do at night ?
I realise this was quite a long time ago, but... did you choose the hotel, or was it made by QR / Qatar Holidays? If you had the choice, do you remember how many options you were given? There is a surprising definition range for 5 star in Doha. One written comment in the video suggested you stayed at the westin - was that the case?
Hi Ian! From what I remember, the airline gives you a choice of several hotels and you can choose, but I don't think there were many options. On one of the legs of the trip, I did stay at the Westin, which was nice. I think the other might have been Hyatt
@@culturosityofficial thanks very much. At the moment, when booking from USA/Canada you have to ask for stopover package and let Qatar Holidays contact you for the hotel confirmation. If booking from much of Europe/Asia you get the hotel option as part of the flight reservation process, but any of my attempts to try it result in failure - call the airline. That leaves you somewhat dubious about it's viability, especially when any 5 star hotel can be booked manually for same dates.
@@ianbrownlie6020 I will say I remember it being super wonky when trying to figure it out... some of the flights would show a hotel that comes in the package but in the end what the representative told me was that as long as you book with Qatar and have a stopover of at least a certain length, you can use the confirmation number to book a hotel. The reps were hard to understand from my experience.. but I think worth confirming and then you can book your own hotel on their site!
Collins, this is tremendous. Your mom sent me the link. You hit all the things Jance and I, Devon and Cal, would want to see. Beautiful images and great tips. There's nothing like a good metro system and food markets. Thank you for sharing this, well done.
Thank you so much Charmaine! It's full of culture there and a new perspective and still very comfortable since it's so clean and everyone speaks English. Hope you get a chance to see my Vietnam footage when I'm done with it!
An excellent report considering the short tayover. God willing, shd i travel international will request a night at tbe 5 Star hotel and the facilities they offer tbanks !
@curiousityofficial Did you happen to notice if the airport, tours, transport, + hotel were wheelchair accessible + friendly to the disabled including mobility impaired? I hope wheelchair assist + porter assist is available along w/ the Qatar Lounge. I don't want to miss out because my body is injured. Thank you for your insights. Best!
Hello! I can't quite remember but everything felt very modern so I would hope those elements would be built in too. Best to check with the airline and they should respond!
Thanks for watching Nadia! It was kind of confusing but on one way there the hotel was listed along with the flight but on the way back I had to speak with Qatar Airlines to make sure I could redeem the promotion. If they still have it, I would just call them to make sure.
If the promotion is still on, it should still get you a hotel. Maybe not the full 5 star hotel deal but as long as it’s with Qatar airlines, you can get a hotel stay for over 12 hours
Hi there! It depends on what passport you hold but many don't need a visa. But it is easy to get a temporary visa it seems at the airport if your passport isn't on the list!
Hello I have 8 hours lay over in Qatar from Philippines going to UK and I have British passport, can I go out of the airport and meet up with a relative who lives in Qatar. Do I need a visa? I really appreciate if you can give me thorough info please thanks
I would check their website to see if it’s still happening during covid but it was extremely confusing when I was looking 😆 basically for an 8 hour layover you can get a standard hotel but for the 4 star hotel deal you need to layover for at least 12 hours!
@Prabhakar Krishnamoorthy we have the same and when we called the airline we are told that the complimentary hotel services are no longer available due to Covid season, however we can call and reserve hotel by ourselves. Looks like $400/ night
