- Martin Van Buren National Historic Site is is located 20 miles south of Albany, New York, and two miles south of the village of Kinderhook, New York. The National Historic Site preserves the estate and thirty-six room mansion of Martin Van Buren, the eighth President of the United States. Van Buren purchased the estate, which he named Lindenwald, in 1839 during his one term as President and it became his home and farm during his retirement (wikipedia).
With me were my wife and son as we visited this site in the summer of 2018. Other stops on this trip were Saratoga, Fort Stanwix and Cooperstown (the Baseball Hall of Fame).

Another place I didn't know existed. Beautiful home. Seems like a lot of original furnishings there. The tour guide did sound like she had a ton of really great information!
Thanks, Josh! Hard to get much love for this historical videos! lol! Appreciate the comment.
Love the furniture! So cool to go in houses such as this... loved Ann's enthusiasm too! And yeah, you need taller staircases.
Absolutely and Ann was excellent! These tour guides can often make or break the historical sites. Hope you are staying warm, my friend! :)
...Or is California the only place in the States not consumed with this polar vortex? lol! 6 degrees yesterday here in NJ!
Yikes! We are in the 60's here, but expecting a major rain storm with big winds to come in tonight. Rain for the next 3-4 days. We had rain pretty much all day yesterday. Warm(ish) though! You would be in shorts and sandals and I'm in a down jacket... dog loves it though! Stay warm and safe!
