Great piece. I think Fillmore was an average at worst president. He was not terrible.

In recent years, I've become more interested in the lesser known or accomplished presidents. I knew very little about Fillmore but this video taught me quite a few things about him, especially his life pre & post presidency. Ms. Frost provided an interesting new perspective on the man's time as our nation's 13th Chief Executive, points I hadn't considered previously. I was surprised to learn that Fillmore actually was opposed to slavery. The Fugitive Slave Act always has seemed such a heinous law that I assumed he was supportive of the abominable institution, essentially a kindred spirit with the southern governing class. I knew Fillmore wasn't a slaveholder himself but am pleased to learn of his personal dislike of slavery. I'm glad he lived to see the 13th Amendment passed. It seems "13" was a lucky number for this man! love presidential sites such as this. Hope to visit it someday!
