I know that some of the farmers that farm NT land have a different view of them but to be fair I think the southwest would be a lot less beautiful than it is were it not for project neptune. Well done for your patronage.
Thanks mate. Coming from a man who knows how to put a film together I value your praise highly. I'm pleased you enjoyed it. Viva la coastal dream eh? Lol.
@@JoeCoastal Damn right mate, i know exactly how much work goes into a video like this, if its anything like mine, then the time ratio from hours input to minutes uploaded is roughly an hour a minute minimum, im currently up to an hour and a half per minute uploaded.... each video i make takes me about 18 hours all told.. Keep at it mate, the quality you're achieving is way ahead of your experience.. it took me ten years doing this so far.. and id be proud of what you made here for sure.. (and im envious of your gimble too..lol)
@@Moonfleet41 Well I certainly don't have time to measure the editing time lol but yeah about hour and a half per minute sounds about right. Thought it was just me being slow. There's still loads of things I'm not doing too like color grading etc. Yeah the gimbal is good. Will be even better when I work out how to use it. I spent quite a bit of time swearing at it to be honest lol.
Yes I've read that recently. I'm planning another video from West Bay soon. I may mention it then. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment.
Great video. I have just come back from spending 5 days at Eype House in my campervan. Never been to Dorset before, what stunning g scenery. Loved it there and just relived it again with your video. Many thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it. I know only too well how it feels to end a holiday down here and want to relive it. That's how I ended up living here lol. I hope you get to return soon as I'm sure there are so many wonderful places here that you've still to find. Thanks for watching 😉
Thought I'd already replied to this but apparently not so apologies. Charmouth is lovely. Apart from the places in this vid don't forget to visit Lyme Regis. Beautiful place.
Firstly, congratulations on wonderful videos. I grew up in that area but now live abroad and its beautiful to see it. I also agree with you about caravans. I was also a working class lad and went on one of those caravans for our holidays. No matter where I've been in the world, I still think those were the best holidays ever and really want to relive it again.
Michael thanks for your kind words. For m caravan sites are just another part of the rural landscape. Most of them have been where they are for my entire lifetime so why would I see it any other way. In reality the tourists they Bring spend the money that allows local shops and pubs to stay open so in many ways they are just as important to rural life as the fisherman's cottage on the quayside or the combined harvester out in the field. I don't know where in he world you are or what your circumstances are but I hope you get to return and see all this again for yourself.
@@JoeCoastal Thanks Joe, I live in Antalya, Turkey now and have been here for 20 years. However still think the Dorset Coastline is amongst the most beautiful in the World. On a different note, I saw on one of your others videos, you're a Terrass fan, I am what you'd technically call a 'scummer' or a "Slime ' fan up the road in Somerset 😅 I won't hold that against you though mate 😅 keep making this great content and loved watching them.
I wondered if the Yeovil in your name was a reference. I'm originally from London where I was brought up on West Ham but I must admit I've tired of the Premier league commercialism but watching a game over at the Bob Lucas stadium reminds me of Upton Park when I was a boy. Same colours too. The glovers haven't done so well over the last couple of seasons have they. Although I think they did the double over us this season. I will be in Cornwall this coming weekend filming a couple more walks so look out for them coming soon. Cheers Michael.
Good for you Jeff. We all need a bit of time by the sea. I'm glad you got something out of it. If you do get out on one of these let me know with another comment. It will be good to hear about it. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment.
Hiya Joe...great video. I used to walk that path every summer from 1963 until 1971 and it was a lovely, bracing walk and....always walked back too. Wow has it all changed with cliff erosion and, yes, the Cap seemed more golden back then. Maybe less vegetation. Thank for bringing back a lot of happy memories from sunny holidays in Dorset.
Thanks Michael. Yes there's been even more erosion with a bit of the path near Eype falling down only a few weeks ago. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to leave a comment.
Thanks fella. I'll have to look at that film. Will be interesting to see where you pitched as I may do a camp there myself one day. It's my favourite stretch too hence I've walked most of it so many times.
Great video Joe. Lovely weather and views You didn't show us the sausage and chips at the end! We stayed at Freshwater Holiday Park a couple of years ago and explored the area. We like caravans especially with a verandah for our Jack Russell. We had 2 dogs before and used to struggle to find a holiday home with a completely enclosed garden to avoid escapes! You could film 2 versions at the beginning eg 1) I am going to Golden Cap 2) I am going to Charmouth and then scrap one 😊
I haven't watched this back lately but I feel sure a waggled the sausage in front of the camera. That's nothing to be proud of by the way 🤣 It's difficult to find the right place when you have dogs isn't it. We go away in our own van when we can but we always have to consider Maisie in our plans.
Yeah I'm sure it's spectacular. I'd like to take a drone along when I walk but but that's a whole different skill set to learn as well as more to carry without breaking. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment. It's appreciated 😁
@@JoeCoastal it's right by the harbour and a public footpath goes right through the park ,in fact it went right past the lodge we were in and goes through to Bridport. Really nice easy stroll. Will definitely go again sometime 👍
@paulshorney3465 don't blame you. I have some great memories there from years ago myself. Don't know if they still do it but I loved the trawler race. Such a fun event.
@@JoeCoastal not sure about the trawler race. But when I used to go with my family as a lad,me and my sister always had a cheeseburger from a food stall called the tea caddy. Think I was about 15 last time we were there. When I went with my wife last year (now 57) we went for chips by the harbour and the tea caddy was still there! Original one? Not sure but I was a bit teary eyed to see it! Lol. Ah happy innocent days👍👍
@paulshorney3465 8 think that's the one that used to sell the biggest burgers you've ever seen. Called them west bay whoppers until burger King threatened to sue them.
Nice one Joe the weather was really good and stunning scenery I'm tempted to do that part myself and I can get the bus there. Also you said you was going to put the highest part of the SWCP on screen you must of forgot 😂 take care mate 😁👍
Yeah I did mate. As soon as I watched it back after uploading i realised but it was too late. I think I said to you before about how annoying it is when you get something wrong like that. I did add the information to the films description though so the facts are there if you look hard enough for them. I also got my prehistoric periods wrong didn't i and had to use a caption to correct myself. Thanks for watching and commenting again mate.
What a great video. I really enjoyed watching it. I've walked from Eype to Golden cap so many times. Always wanted to do the next bit into Charmouth. Hopefully I will this year. You have lovely weather . I've walked in all types. Got soaked , windswept and sunburnt. What month did you walk it because it looked very quiet. Hardly anybody about. Thank you for filming it.
Hi Jo. I've walked that bit many times too. Usually from Burton Bradstock as we used to stay at the caravan park there. That was last year. Either May or June but it was a scorcher. I'll be honest, i struggled with the walk back in the heat. To be fair though climbing the Golden Cap twice in one day was never going to be a good idea 😁 thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment.
Hi Pauline. I think it took me about 8 hours but it always takes significantly longer when I'm filming. You can easily knock 2 hours off that. I wouldn't necessarily promise yourself to reach Charmouth. Make a decision when you get to the top of the golden cap.
Thanks Lyn. Glad you liked it. I've just filmed another bit from Osmington Mills to Durdle Door. The weather wasn't quite as perfect today but should make a decent film by the time I finish editing it. Thanks again for taking the time to watch.

Going on holiday to West Bay this Summer and plan on doing this walk, your video was really helpful. I hope I get similar weather for my walk!
Good luck for that. In honesty though I think slightly cooler than that day would be better. That one was just too hot.
