I always love it when you're out surfing @ a tropical spot like that in maxed out conditions with other Hawaiians, particularly your best friends (like Eli)...you guys always stand out & have fun! And, I have to agree with Koa--that was probably the biggest & best barrel I've ever seen him surf...that resort is absolutely amazing...alas, mostly a faraway dream for the other 99% of the surfing population
The difference between a good solid surfer and these guys is vast, and I have to envy these guys surfing all over the world at the drop of a hat. Just gaining more and more experience every day at epic spots around the world! Right on

That’s almost the identical experience we had at Kandui Villas travelling from Cronulla in 2022. We had a big swell hit then also, same size as you had just after a massive rain storm hit at night (maybe a day later). Beautiful place. 🔥

I like the way you take it beyond juat a surf clip. It's not only about barrel time. It's about a wave that's on a coastline that is cold, misty, wild, dangerous, unspoilt (so far) and classic. . You portray that really well. Great job Koa.
You know conditions and a session like this deserve like an hour long full surf movie. You should take all the footage, and even the rides of other guys who were there and edit it into a full length, just such an epic looking session and incredible day.
When you have a 6 1/2 hour long session with double overhead barrels rolling in one after another after another is mind blowin .and that was just the first session 😂 seriously it doesn't get any better than that in one word.Paradise
I've sat in the channel at this place in similar size, you don't understand how powerful the wave is and breaking over a shallow reef, these guys have balls of steel... amazing ...I was nervous just sitting in the channel
As a line two surfer who wants to progress, this was so useful. Very curious to learn little bit more on a board's volume and it's advantage/disadvantage in the different kinds of surf. There is also a lot of confusion as to what type of board parameters fit different kind of surf spots (is it a point break? beach break?), and everyone has different opinions. Thanks so much for everything you do for us.
As you're describing the wave that you're talking about put it up so we can see it at the same time you're describing it that way we get the full visual effect of the wave gosh I wish I could have served over there just one time but I just didn't have the money to I guess I'm just glad I get to see you guys tear it up over there and you're right that is one of the best barrels ever
