Pochettino will give Rayna his due if he's playing well at the club level, but he won't be afraid to give Diego Luna, who is an incredibly silky 10 with RSL. Fans will be happy that we'll have a coach who will use our roster to their strengths, but in his system, he also runs a high line. Which requires CBs to be tactically responsible
That's positive! I think a good #10 can make a huge difference in international soccer and I want a coach who acknowledges this isn't club ball. I also want a guy who's ruthless and willing to throw out his game plan in a knockout game if things aren't working like Deschamps did against Argentina

Poch takes ages to build form for every team he coaches. That’s not something you have coaching on the International stage. I hope he gets a good club, but I don’t really like him for the USMNT

The US player pool just doesn't have the skills which fit a Southgate system so it's a bad match. The US won't get a top manager but Southgate just isn't a good manager, average at best (and that's being incredibly generous). England has chronically underperformed under him, England have better talent than Spain, France, and the Netherlands but if I had to rank England right now based on performance they would fall behind both Spain and France and possibly be in a head-to-head with the Netherlands, potentially Portugal, and Italy trailing closely behind (England got a very lucky draw in the Euros which enabled them to get to the finals).
