First thing I notice is fit and proportions. Then generally the look, color and appearance of the fabric. Related to this how the person coordinated with a nice shirt and shoes. Then I notice details like Lapel size/proportion, pick stitching and button holes and button types. The rest are items to determine (as you mention) of interest to people seeking high quality construction for themselves

Im shopping for my wedding suits and im kinda lost , in regards to where to buy a good quality long lasting suit from a reputed company, which one do you think i should go for Brooks's brother, ermenegildo zegna, or canali. If you have any other suggestions in your mind , i would really appreciate it

all 3 are very reputable companies and you'd be safe with any of them; Canali and Zegna are going to be more expensive as generally are higher end

But out of curiousity which brand sells reliable quality fabrics,
The reason why i asked you this is because i have been reading some of the forums and for some reason it states that bb's quality has not been upto the mark as it used to be 5 years ago, and talking about quality i went to bb the other day to select suit fabrics and i saw e. Zegna cloth which was really soft on touch but i was wondering how good of a quality cloth would that be might as well just by from zegna or canali. So thats why, and talking about the price points all three of the suits were approximately the same price maybe like $500-600 up or down. Thats why i was wondering which brand to rely on since im looking a suit that would fit more tighter instead of looking more baggy on me.
      Thank you

Zegna is as reliable as it gets. They use their own cloths which they manufacture and they use an ounce system on cloth instead of "super" counts which is waaaay more credible compared to "super" counts- you will get a fantastic product. Canali is also highly reliable and buy their cloth from excellent mills. BB sells multiple brands so I can't speak for that, as I don't know every brand, but as an excellent retailer they are considered a reliable source for suits.

It also looks like your button holes are sewn than cut and not cut than sewn.
