I highly doubt it was created for educational purposes. It is likely this is nothing more than an art project (not a bad thing, though) just like LSD simulator was (or I think it was). Some of the material is too heavy, arbitrary and abstract for a child to understand and take in, and anyone would know this.

I said it is abstract, although I should make it clearer. Very young children (probably the target demographic of this edutainment game) aren't developed enough mentally to fully comprehend terms that aren't material. (So my objection wasn't that the material of the game was going to be scary for children, but hard to be understood by children)
on the rolypolys game, the english proverbs are pretty much supposed to be analogous to 'kotowaza', or japanese proverbs, which are the focus of the game. i also found that some of the english equivalents did not really equate well to the kotowaza, and the animations and lessons certainly seemed a little too heavy to be teaching to kids :D
