I used to live in Malu in 2000. I am the first Iraqi Arab to live with my family in the beautiful city of Malu. God wanted me to go back to my country, but my heart and soul are with Ireland. There I lived the best days of my childhood, and I hope to return to Ireland one day.
My Great Great Grandmother was born in Mallow in the early 1820s. Died in Queenstown in the early 1900s. Her son immigrated to the USA in about 1884 and I descend from that gentleman. I have never been to Ireland and would certainly enjoy visiting if I ever could.
I was last in Mallow mid June of 2014. Returned part of my deceased husbands cremains to be buried with his Mum. We met on St Patricks Day in 2007 in a small town located in the Midwest of America where we both lived in. The chances of our even meeting was amazingly low. Destiny pushed us together no doubt. My ancestral Castle Dromineen sits outside of town on the banks of the Blackwater River where my beloved once fished as a young lad. His sister and father and many relatives live in or close to Mallow. I miss Mallow very much. Im not certain I will ever be able to go again. I wish I could live there, and not in the states. I was involved in a automobile accident a few miles outside Mallow in 1990--jet lagged on my first trip to Ireland--a real character builder but that first pint of Murphy's was epic.
@Sebastian Scheidt🤣 funny!!! My first drive in Ireland was perfect thruout that holiday of mine. Some of the back roads were remakably narrow, and the sheep crossing was really fun 😂. I must have stronger legs than you, i could drink pints all night long and drive the proper way. Being from the states, Im certain my ancestral blood kicked in, because I never had any problem at all driving opposite lanes there.
at 6:29 , thanks for the mention of the Clock House , owned once by my great or great-great grandfather. My Mother, Celeste Wentcher, eldest child of Pauline Nunan and Otto Wentcher, was born at Cloverhill Farm , 7 August 1912, (now divided into estates). Died this past December, 103+!!!
Was captain of Kanturk voc school football team,who won the county final 1966..after we had great night out in Mallow,and head teacher Mr.Sweeney got drunk,lol..i just wonder if anyone has some photos ,and if some team members are still around..it was a great team,and we won every match by huge margins..and to Matty Murphy,our Trainer,one of the best😅
At that time we used 3 bullet cameras fixed to the inside of the windscreen with a suction pad system. This allowed us to pan left and right using a small hand held remote control
