Hi! So the handle for that door usually has two positions, the horizontal one is to open the door as usual and the vertical is to open it half way as a window (you canfind these type of handles for doors and for windows). It is not supposed to open how it did in the video, you should be able to open it with the handle in the horizontal position. Try pushing a bit maybe the door is stuck, and if not ask your landlord before it could break :)
