In fact, the person whos video you're watching would more closely agree with goobie than with you, so not sure why you're so sour about it.

Yeah, they need to fix MR and to help Wizard, give them a projectile that does physical damage.
I'd personally love a classic D&D spell telekinesis. They could go the route of just animating stones and stuff getting grabbed and thrown, or better (more effort) is hurling actual objects like small chests, small enemies like bats, death beetles, torches and so forth.
I don't think Wizards need a projectile that does physical damage. Physical damage Wizard already exists with melee buff ignite, haste, ice shield, arcane barrier

Amen. This game is gear. Since I suck enough to always play normals, I have a different list of complaints.
The issue is that in solos. Your opponent could be at your same gear level and warlock will almost always dominate regardless of class (save for another warlock)

What are the Warlock changes that you would suggest that would balance them while still having them be a viable class to play?
Change dark reflection to only work when hitting a shield or remove it from the game. Then give magic resist clothing stats to compete with other gear pieces. Now improve the scaling at the lower end of magic resist to not give .1% resistance per point and things look much more balanced.
They gotta buff action speed scaling no classes can swing their weapons at a functional speed with low gear other than fighter and rogue it's pretty aids for longsword to be stuck on fighter because it's just too slow for warlock or any attacks on cleric you build all the dex you want still slower than 2 hits of a candy crystal sword
I don't think they are going to balance for low end gear properly but I feel you. Crystal sword swings faster with almost as good range. Warlock is the problem there though, green and blue crystal swords are pretty bad weapons other than with this build. You can run adrenalin rush instead of 2nd wind for when it comes time to trade and will win you fights if you have enough damage. It sounds bad but 2nd wind just can't out heal the damage in this game, its better for ranged trades or a quick reset and to save healing consumables.
Mr scaling was one of may reasons why add damages where less obtainable last patch. Changing MR scaling is fine, but it will hurts wizard carry dependent comps or solo play a lot. I wish warlock wasn't a battle mage that consistently dps but a cc/combo reliant burst mage that uses cooldowns to control the powerful burst cc spells a warlock might have. Like eldritch blast that knocks the frontliner a huge distance.
i really dont understand scaling for ar. like it seems very simple make ar and mr scale higher at the low end and then make bonus percentage needed to hit caps. seems like a pretty fair solution allowing squishy classes to stack armor to around the 30-40% range rather than being stuck at 20% but making it harder for classes like fighter and warlock to be so oppressive

I did some number crunching and the bell curved scaling they implemented does not even correlate to typical gear unless you have max roll epics or really high roll legendaries which can also get other stats and not be a "loot pinata" as you put it lol. Won't bore you with the math because Firebox essentially explained the problem well.
The Rogue that you thought quit game maybe just crashed. I had few crashes recently too. For no reason, just moving around.

To what extent do you think you're winning these fights because of the gear? The build looks good, but if that rogue had spent half what you had you'd have lost the kit potentially? Very strong build though for sure.
I would like to add that will contributes greatly to magic Resist, however it’s a lost stat line for a couple points
It does, but will as a stat kind of sucks and isn't worth stacking to get a few points of MDR. It is much better to stack movespeed, health, and damage
the move % is going to get completely removed and how long boc is able to stay active
So I think one easy way to fix this would be to make the crystal sword ONLY do magic damage. Bump the base damage up just a little but not more then like an extra 1 or 2 per tier, but remove all of the physical damage from it so you are not adding 50 and 50 between the two damage types. So rather then doing 100 damage a swing you are only doing 50 with decent scaling and requiring BoC to get it over 100. It would make it totally useless at low gear levels even more then it already is but it helps with the scaling. Alternatively just adjust the scaling % for the physical and magic damage it has. Though I suppose most of it comes down to the magic damage and the fact most people only have at best 20% resistance if they dont just have a negative due to one or two bits of gear.
I hope they do fix this with the patch even though I am a warlock main. Though I have not had the chance to really do this as I have been leveling my cleric for multiclassing later so also want to try to do this a couple of times at least before I cant.
You don't want this. Mobs have magic resistance. This means mob clearing for every class that uses a crystal sword (wizard) would be useless.

It's weird how there are junk protection potions you can bring into normals but not junk magic protection potions. They don't exist. I'm sure this might not make a huge difference in many fights, but to me it indicates the overall imbalance between magic and physical damage. Think about before this wipe, where magic protection pots could only be crafted/were incredibly difficult to find
I remember saying a while ago that DnD devs have had the same issues in their game for months (When you include playtests), and that was at game launch.
What do you know, we are several months even after that and magic damage is STILL a major issue. Can these devs fix anything?

If you buff MR, then you will need to do something to help low end caster locks and wizards. Even with 30% MR, without any +true damage, those playstyles suffer hard. You would also need to nerf barb's Iron Will.
i love getting curse or pained one time by a warlock in greys and greens and losing 80% of my health on a geared rogue and that doesnt even touch this build.
Magic resistance needs a buff for sure but i also think true magic should be removed completely. It doesn't really make sense to me that stacking resistance is an option when certain builds will ignore that completely.
Id argue cleric can also utilize mr builds, ive got a 60% mr kit that comes with 40% pdr snd 70% spell power locus swarm slaps haha

Every class basically paying a tax because of 1 Barbarian perk. The fact that they didnt use the new wave of armors to try and fix the problem is really confusing whether they are even aware that this is a fairly major problem.

Who thought a bell curve that is not even fine tuned to typical gear numbers would be a good idea. Slopped together most likely. Iron Mace don't be the slop masters of the dungeon please and fix that monstrosity of magic resistance scaling otherwise EVERYONE is going to multiclass iron will and it will be stale as week old bread.......

I wouldn't say it's overpowered, it's just too easy to play and cheap to itemize for a oneshot potential.
If you are half decent at the game and enemy warlock isn't running perfectly rolled items it's REALLY easy to kill them.

Out of curiosity what class do you play? I feel like every class hits hard with the right gear. I got one tapped as a mage while against a barbarian. no buffs just a headie
I've been teling people magic will kill this game. The devs refuse to fix scaling or give any counter play to the 2 zap 3 curse gigga juicers and even if you are their "Counter" class you still get 2 tapped. all they do is change base numbers and refuse to touch scaling for god knows what reason

It's not just magic resistance. Its massive double and triple scaling on things like boc/magic dmg weapons/ignite. Expect it to get worse when multiclassing comes as people can stack multiples of these.
