Wonderful review. Interesting how you tried different inks to pair with the pen, your final choice is just right.

@@fossilimprint2954 Funny thing is my husband jokes with me by saying just pick your second ink first. 😊

    Great review, Clare!
I consider the M1000 my “Desert Island Pen.” The M1000 nibs are quite different to any other nibs in the Pelikan range due to their softness.

Wonderful review, the M1000 is a pen that is on my list to someday add to my small collection. By the way, I have seen many people write in their videos, and your handwriting is THE BEST that I have ever seen. Really gorgeous.

Hold the M1000 up to the light to see the ink level. Ink windows are not common on modern Pelikans. The Toledo's have them as does the" Metal Stripes" version of the M800, there are a few others as well but most of the striped models do not. I like my M1000, but prefer the M800's for everyday longer writing sessions. The M1000 nib is definitely softer than the nib on my MB 149.

I totally agree with you. Thank you for commenting. I love both models. The other models are too small for me. You get a little spoiled with ink windows.

Nice review! I’ve been wanting a gold nib Pelikan for a bit (Stresseman) but can’t seem to get around to getting one

Is it worth buying pelikan m1000 in comparison to montblanc 149 and sailor kop?what about build quality and writing experience of the fountain?any cracks issues in the fountain?

@@vinaynagdev3774 I have the MB 149 but not a Sailor KOP. I love both the M1000 and the MB 149. Maybe a little different writing experiences. The M1000 is a very wet nib. Both pens have broad nibs. So far no issues with cracking. The nib maybe a little softer on the M1000 compared to the MB149. Both are wonderful writers.

I believe the Pelikans that are prone to cracking are the ones with white resin parts. M1000s are pretty durable.
Both the MB149 and Sailor KOP are superb pens as well. Which is best is probably a matter of personal preference.
