I am so glad I saw this, the rejection was also my root. My step mother raised me and I felt so rejected and taken as a joke by my mother. She would laugh when I would visit when asked (at the age of 10) why she wasn’t there for me. This would bring me to tears each time. She was always more concerned with how my dad was doing instead of how I was. She still asks how he is first before we continue with our convo. For me to have peace, I made a decision to accept how she is but forgive her. I learned that shortly after attending FSC. That was 2013. Our relationship is progressing. When you stated that you did your endeavors to seek your fathers approval that struck at my chord. I felt that on every single level. I love you, I miss you and pray that you continue live out your best unapologetic life, Happy and full of Joy. Thank you always for pouring in even when you are afar. 🖤

I can definitely relate I grew up with a step dad that I would not accept until I got grown and he been with my mom since I was6 months old my dad was never there and I didn’t get to know him until I was called to his funeral but my stepdad is my hero and I love him to death🙏❤
