    OMG thank you!!!!! I've been looking at a ton of videos and I couldn't find anyone who would talk about the filters and why/how to use them. Also thanks for the information on what to do when not using the printer for a while. I've left town for a month a couple of times and wish I had known this.

    Do you have an opinion on the best refillable cartridges and dye inks? Im debating with myself between Cobra vs Film Direct's all black dye inks/catridges. Do you have a favorite brand with less clog or chip issues?

    is there any difference in the ink specifications between the ink used in the CISS and the ink used in the refillable cartridges or same pigment ink could be used for both solutions ?

      So sorry ive just been trying to gather up information my printer hasnt printed yet. So im guessing to pull the dampers out and use a syringe with a tube to clean the print heads? Do i push the cs though the print head or ive seen some people pull a vacuum with the sryinge on the print head. Thanks

    Hi. is possible to refill CISS cartridges whitout external tanks running like refillable cartridges?. i want to use only the cartridges without external tanks and pipes. i have a epson kit of CISS never used but i print few things and don't need a CISS.

      they don't hold enough ink. ciss carts are low capacity and are technically not carts, they are "dampers". they allow a 1-way flow from tank to print head. refillable carts have a reservoir that holds a lot of ink. a ciss cart will run out after two pages of 13x19 presentation setting. also it's worth mentioning, you can't use a refillable cart with a CISS tank system because refillables don't have a vacuum system, the ink won't drip into the cart from the tanks because there's no suction.

    Once a cartridge is depleted and the second set refilled, installed, and working, will the printer be able to read/estimate the ink levels, or not? If not, what will happen, error codes other problems? Thanks

      If I just color these cartridges completely from outside with dark paint to stop any irradiance of uv light. Would that work.

      I'm gonna give it try, its the only cheap option I got. I'll share results.😉

    Ok. Can the refillable cart converted to ciss?

    • @Ben-so6xr
      @Ben-so6xr 6 лет назад

      pong Laynes punch holes in carts insert elbow tube joints. Make sure carts doesn't get any air from outside cuz in that case it will suck air instead of getting ink from tanks. That's it.

      I know it's 5 years later, but no, do not do this. A CISS works on the principle of vacuum and buoyancy. A CISS cart is not a real cart, it's actually a damper which is simply a path for ink to flow from tank directly into the head (there's a reason why we don't simply plug tubes directly into the print head). The CISS cart utilizes a vacuum pressure once the flow gets going. A refillable cart is a tank and has a lot of space inside of it. The large amount of ink will not allow the right amount of pressure to allow the ink to flow into the heads. It may "act" like it's working at first, until the ink runs low in the refillable cart and it will struggle to refill itself (basically drip in, rather than flow in). If not enough ink drips in fast enough and you're running the press, you'll run out real fast.
