    Hey VAW!
I will start doing my first very axe. Getting the head forged by a smith and currently looking for a special wood blank to use. I am thinking Ziricote/Bocote. Nearly as strong as Shagbark hickory. Might also look for purpleheart, 2x shagbark strength!
Now my question is, what tools should I get for working the wood blank into a nice shaft?
The tools I already have is angle grinder. So rasping disc and lamell/Sanding discs is cheap and easy to get.
Or should I avoid using the angle grinder all in all and just get a draw knife, shinto rasp and a stationary beltsander (that seems best way to mace accurate sanding compared to angle grinder)

That two line tip great tip that will work qith finding center lines on steal pieces during fabrication if edge has dips my soap stone will show those like your pencil and I will know somewhere between is true center. I work in a fab shop we fab industrial handrails stairways for industrial plants steel beams that construct all the structures that make plants structures and buildings we got put clips with volt holes down center of web of beams for stuff to bolt and end playes and some beams can have 20 plates all around it on every center line to bolt other beams to it so I'm gonna use that trick where fab work is even that much closer to perfect on center as yoy can possibly get to help the iron workers out in field so they hopefully don't have to do much drilling holes bigger bigger make bolts holes line up or anything serious on them as much as possible on my part for them and even when cutting stuff with torch I can run my cutting between the two lines cuse that is center instead of on on side and leaving line show or cut line in half or so on you get the point

any recommendations on good course woodworking rasps, course metal working resps, spokeshave, Pullsaw or good woodworking saw, chisels, and anything anything else?

bandsaw, pull saws suck, Bahco rasps are veryyy good, find a vintage spokeshave or make your own (Look up rex Kruger spokeshave) and you need a drawknife.

Hey man, seeing your shop in this video made me finally connect the motherfucking dots.. What I wanna do with the rest of my life is have an axe shop. It took me 30 years, failed careers, and a vodka buzz over a dominoes sub sandwhich (*now cold* bc I've been smacking oak LOGS for the last 2 hours since delivery) I apologize for the death by detail. In conclusion, fuck dominoes. Thank you for helping me realize what my path really is, and also that it's okay to buy something besides bourbon ONCE in a while. Man, if you feel like making some less fundamental videos, I would be mf grateful for videos on the unseen side of running a shop for us new guys who wanna jump off the ground in the trade. Like what are some nuances you've overcome being more of vet in the industry? I know that hard lessons are (L)earned and I understand if you are reluctant to just give these hard earned lessons away. Just tell me to fuck off on that but fr, I hope for a response. I feel like Stan, writing Eminem hahaha goddamn. That's a gnarly scar on your eye, also 🤘alright man, til then.
