Community colleges are not just for students who did not get accepted to 4- year universities. Many students prefer a community college for their first 2 years because they are cheaper, provide excellent education, and are usually located close to their home. After completing the 2 year program, most universities like to accept students who did well at community college because they have proven they are good students. Transferring to a 4-year university for the final 2 years is usually much easier at that point
I disagree with you, it's the complete opposite;
transferring from a 2-year community college to a 4-year university requires very good academic performance, plus you still need financial aid to pay for that university that accepted you, which is very rare in the case of a transfer student; meaning, you'll have to pay a huge amount of the tuition if not all of it, which is very disadvantageous to international students.
exactly!!
right! I'm deliberately choosing a community college as an international student because it's actually affordable, and I can still transfer later if I want to
Yesss thank you so much for this 😅😍
Macerly hey. I watch your videos. There are amazing. Big fan of your!!!

Hey Macerly, just checked out your channel. If you are interested in doing a collab let us know (this is Brooke). It looks like our audiences might have some nice overlap potential. info supertutortv.com
Hi, I want to apply in Harvard College for the year 2022-2023 but the problem is that I don't know when to take all these tests? Can you help me plssss😭😭
Pro Tip: If you are a student from Europe, STAY THERE!! The universities in the EU are just as good (if not better), and they cost 3x less! Not to mention that admission in Europe is so much more Democratic that what we have in the US.
Peter Tkatchenko I agree, gonna try to get in the ETH in Switzerland, you don't pay much and they are still pretty famous (Einstein studied there)
Dont spread fake news. The schools may be cheaper, but the schools are on a much much lower level and the admissions process is stupid.
Big Schlong Max Look the QS college ranking up, in Europe there's Oxbridge, the ETH and many other excellent universities.
dodie trash there are less than 5 excellent universities in all of Europe, while there are more than 30 in just the US. Plus, that doesnt even mention the fact that employment is much easier with an American degree in any country, aside from the fact that it would be easier to find a great job in the US.
Big Schlong Max Why would your chances of getting a job increase due to graduating at a University like Dartmouth that might be known in the US but isn't a big name like Oxford?
I'm very glad to see you take your first international step! Keep up the good work
This explained so many questions of mine that would take me hours to find out, and in just around 10 minutes!👍🏻
Thank you!! This helped me so much in the last year. I’ve already been admitted to UIC and Penn State and I’m waiting for the others now.
Loved this video, it was really helpful! Hope you can make more videos for international students.
Really helpful, thank you. I'm from Honduras, and most of the students here don't know this stuff and when they try to apply to a college/university in the U.S., they realize they don't meet all the requirements. I wish more people from here knew this.
This was very helpful. Could you please do a video about international student scholarships and funding options?
I really appreciate your videos about the colleges' application. I would like that you do another videos where you give tips for international students it would be interresting.
Finally! Thank you so much for this video. I'm super confused with the College System in USA.
OMG thank you so much for doing this video as a Brazilian this has helped me so much!!! I was completely confused as what I had to do and now Im completely relaxed. Thank you so much 😊

MORE INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS VIDEOS, WE NEED YOUR HELP SUPERTUTOR!
Thank you for this video. .
But can you do a video about financial aid for international students? 😃
Question if you’re a US citizen who currently lives in another country are you still considered an international student.
And also “FINALLY THIS VIDEO IS HERE!!!!!!!” One year of patience was worth it , anybody else agrees?
Angelia Villar of course ;))
Is your instruction primarily in English? If so, you may not need to go through the TOEFL etc. and will be considered an American as an applicant. If you're on a military base or daughter of a diplomat etc. you're also likely treated the same as an American applicant.
Brooke Hanson okay thank you 🙏 so so much hope to use ur prep course for the SATs
@@brookifyd Hey i was born in the us,lived and went to school there until i was 8 years old.I've been living in Turkey ever since.Primary language is Turkish here.I'm ovbiously fluent in English, and it will probably be clear in the test results should i still take the TOEFL?

Excellent, this really helped me
Hey Brooke! Would you please help international students like us by making videos on how we can get the best colleges in US and what attributes we need to show to get into an Elite College with maximum financial AID? Because students like us definitely need Financial scholarship AIDs in order to study in US colleges. Please do make a video on a list of colleges that gives the maximum financial scholarships for international undergrad students and a list of colleges that certainly are easier for students like us to get in with the maximum AID. Also, how we can get these AIDs and what should be our SAT, SAT subject test scores in order to get the scholarship are also important factors for us to know. Thank you! always have been a fan of Supertotor TV. It's best prep course channel in youtube! Love from Bangladesh ♥

Thank you! That was helpful.

Hi!
Can you make a video on whether or not the August SAT will be hard this year, and whether or not we should take it?
Thanks!
FINALLY, THANK YOU FOR THIS :D
Can you please talk about extracurriculars that international students need to do to have a good chance to get into ivy league?
We don’t use GPA’s but I plan to resit the SAT, am worried they will use 1 or 2 school exams as a way to judge me instead of the GPA
Yes more international videos please !
OH GOD THANKS I NEEDED THIS
this would’ve been so useful when i was first researching colleges

Are scholarships for international students solely based on standardised test scores. I am really confused regarding this since I have no clue how my grades would seem in the application process.
There are merit-based schaolrships based on GPA and scholarship. However, sometimes they are not so generous. Try to apply to Liberal arts colleges and Privates universities that offer need-based aids
The most highly ranked Universities only give out scholarships based on demonstrated financial need, like in the Ivy League, etc.
Not usually. Every college is different and most significant scholarships are distributed by colleges themselves. Sometimes a score is a qualifying factor (At USC for example) but then you also have to go through a process including other evaluation points.
Special fees / scholarships / aids for students are available under the Global Literacy Development Program.

Could you make a video about Americans going abroad for college? I'm going to be going to college in the UK and I'm curious about your take on it. I think there's a lot of good options that Americans don't consider. Once I opened my search to be the whole world, about half my options were outside the US in countries like the UK, Canada, the Netherlands, France, etc.
What if Im poor? I need a scholarship
Financial aid?
Hey my dudes, if you're going to a community college with the plan of transferring to a 4 year university, make sure you know which of your classes will transfer _before_ you register. Some of my classes will transfer full credit, some will transfer as "electives" (usually the lower level classes, like College Algebra or Freshman Comp), and some won't have any equivalent and I get zero credit:(
Thank you!
This is GOLD
A video for me. Thanks
I live in the United States, but I'm from a rural area where most people just go to the college in the nearest city. That's fine, but I want to know more about all the options out there since my education about college has been fairly limited.
So helpful!!! Thank uu
Thank you so much
I'm from Ecuador and I graduated from high school last year
Do you think it is necessary to enter a community college?
Or is it enough if I get a good score on the ACT, SAT, Toefl and the Sat Subject Tests?
since the times have changed, could you make an updated video regarding this topic, it would be of great help....
Thankss !!!
This was so helpful! Thank you so much!!!
ADVICE NEEDED So I have done a lot of community service, organized a city-wide community project, was part of a national Camp MUN organizers team, and coached a televised MUN in my city. As far as curriculars go, I am pretty good at photography/video editing, but I don't have any achievements in that area. I also wrote an essay on human rights that was in top ten in my country. And then a lot of regional (state-level) academic contests in various areas, where I got 1-2-3rd. I was also a USDOS sponsored exchange student, but I got a 3 on AP Calc and a 2 on AP Comp, which are not great. My American hs wasn't very competitive. Got 1300 on my SAT, plan on retaking that. Should I even try? I know my parents won't be able to pay for my education if I get in. So idk what to do now. Should go to a community college or something first?

Omg thank you so much
Thank you so much :D
Respected supertutortv administration,
I am Saiham from Bangladesh who shall appear for the ACT exam on October 27th 2018.
I have come across your RUclips channel and have found it really helpful. I would therefore like to enroll myself for The Best ACT Prep Course Ever.
However, I would like to enroll myself for 3 months instead of the 6 months package on the website since my exam is on next month.
Do you have any 3 month course or 3 month access to The Best ACT Prep Course Ever. If yes, what would be the price.
Thank you so much for your time.
Best regards,

hi brooke can you upload a video on top 5 colleges for engineering (for international students) in usa
THANK YOU
Helpful video thank you. I'm from the UK currently studying undergrad Psych but thinking of transferring to the USA. Just where would be the best place to start? Would I contact the US uni's I'm interested in and explain my current situation?
Hi,
Thank you for making video about U S College system. I am an International student, I learn a lot from you. I have a question that "Is early high school graduate good or bad? Or What's are some pros and cons for early high school graduation.
Pros are that you can move on earlier. Cons are you might be missing activities that better your "soft" skills or unstable on your foundational core knowledge
How much money USA requires in average for Undergraduate program as international students bank statement?
Which university of Illinois is the best for international admission?? they didn’t mention which one at 6:54
One question: what if in my country there's only 3 years of high school? What do I put on 9th grade on the common app, the info of my last year of secondary school? Or do I not even mention it?
Thanks
Some schools do, some don't. But I recommend you should also include 9th grade.
Contact the college
Same. Middle school for us is 6th grade through 9th grade. Highschool is only three years.
I’d talk to someone at the college you’re applying to to make sure :) good luck!!
Hi, We have the same system in my country, and as someone who already got into college. You just have to indicate that you went to two schools from 9th to 12th grade, just put the information of both schools and in the box asking for a reason for transferring say something like" the schooling system in my country considers 9th grade as part of middle school and 10th-12th grade as parts of high school, the school mentioned above was my *insert type of respective school (middle or high)* school"

What about american citizens living abroad? Can you explain that unique situation? Thanks!
Hi! I'm in that same boat and from what I've been told, it's the same application process but without any necessary citizenship requirements.
You’re still considered a domestic applicant. However, if you’re not a citizen or have a green card, you’re international regardless of where you live
Perhaps and explanation of private vs public and state universities vs state (UCLA vs Long Beach State).
In the Caribbean we have CXC not SAT or ACT but it’s kind of the same thing I guess.
Hey I am consider an international student, since I am not a citizens however I do live in the US with a visa and go to High School here, how would my college application process work?
Are European credits (ECTS) recognised in the US? Do I need to evaluate them course by course?
Ma'am please make a financial aid information video for International students
What about International A Levels?? Are they a good measure of the English language proficiency or some form of an alternative to AP or IB tests??
Thanks for this, it really cleared up some things!
What I am still not clear on:
What do I do when I come from a school (and country for that matter) which doesn't offer the ACTs and SATs or IB and AP courses? We only have our own national exam (which is based on the H/IGCSE system). Do US universities accept these? Do I have to take the SAT/ACT? If so, how do I do that?
Justin Brandt If you want to be accepted to a top us university you must take the SAT/ACT, even if you have to travel to a neighbouring country to find a center. However if you are not picky on the ranks of the colleges then you don't really have to take the SAT or ACT.
Justin Brandt usually you can find centers to take ACT/SAT in every country
What ibie 99 said. SAT vacation. Or you could go to an American community college or lower ranked "test optional" college but finding the latter would take some work.
