Looks great Alan! Impressed with the broccoli. Mine took about 60 days in the states. You must have some pretty good compost. Love the brassica cages. Wish we could get scaffolding netting here. I use Enviromesh, but boy, it is a sail in high wind. The scaffolding netting looks perfect for netting veg. Stay well!

Cheers Alan, you planted them at exactly the right time before the hot weather came and they probably knew that and decided to flower early. I struggled for years and you get a perfect harvest in 5 weeks.......🤣 nature always finds away.
    ♻️Happy gardening, Terry King.

Ooohhh gorgeous calabrese apparently they love the weather and nutrients and yes you’ll get side shoots 👍👍. Great job on the cages and will work a charm. I will have to brave the mosquitoes and get my winter brassica plants in beds very soon. Hopefully your keeping well and staying safe 👍

As always Ali thanks for your support and comments thats probably the key 🔑 plenty sunshine and nutrition we have not had much sunshine until lately if planted sooner they may not have been so good? But I was shocked how quickly they grew and produced. The cages will make life much easier now they are done it's just time consuming but hopefully a one time job for many years use. Stay safe and well Alan

Those cages are very smart, nice job. I do like the brassicas. Think I lucked out buying Cavolo Nero as the first attempt. Literally right by the front doorstep, I'm still grabbing a few leaves before cooking and they just keep growing.

    • @alansallotment

I don't particularly like the cavolo Nero but they are good and give a very long harvest the same as the dwarf curling kale I just harvest the leaves also and they keep giving 😉
