Thank you for this! Been using my monitor since my first kiddo who is now 12 and thought it was ready for the bin, but all working again now! 🙂

I'm going to try this. We stopped using this 3 years ago when the power wouldn't turn off so when the battery died, I could plug it in but it never turned back on. We have a second baby & I'm desperate to make this unit work rather than shell out $200+ for a new one. I'm not v handy so that soldering tool business might not work but tape? I can do tape!! Ha. I read a commenter below used tape. Here I go... if that doesn't do it I'll have to study the way you did it more closely as I head to the hardware store. Thank you for this! When I contacted customer service three years ago they weren't going to replace it. But my next door neighbor had the SAME issue & her cust svc rep sent her a brand new one even though hers was also out of warranty. Fingers crossed! Thank you!!

Thank you very much for sharing. I was about to order new batteries and saw your video. I popped my monitor open w small flat head screwdrivers and saw the power switch had come loose at one junction. I taped it down for tonight, that's all it needed, and it's turning on now. I also found out the unit works without batteries at all if it's plugged in too, wasn't sure. Thanks so much, we'll sleep easier tonight because of you and you helped save us the money from buying a new unit.

PatsVideos100 thanks and glad the video was able to help out. This monitor was invaluable and having it not working made it for a lot of sleepless nights. Daughter is now 4 so haven't used it in about a year but it is still going strong.

+arnebc You're welcome! These are expensive units so why not try to fix before throwing it away. So Im glad I fixed it and its still working today.

Ok. Failed! The whole tiny black box you reaffixed had come totally off on mine. I lack robotic dexterity and can't seem to get it back in place to try to tape or even solder. Sadly I will have to replace. Ugh!! Something so minor. So upset. But I truly appreciate your video!

Hi! Thanks for this video. I'm going to try to repair my summer infant monitor. What brand is the soldering iron you're using? I need to purchase one and read mixed reviews online.

Same issue here but actually my power switch had completely come off the board. obviously there is a core fault here with these devices. I'm gonna try the local phone repair place to see if tey can do the soldering for me, will point them to your video. right now have to sleep in my babies room again as we cant keep an eye on him - these are great devices otherwise.

Yeah it does take alot of time and patience to get the solder on just right. Hope you get it worked out. Thanks for checking out the video.

Hello. please tell me how to disassemble the camera ?!

I had a different problem with my MBP43 (pretty much the same design.) My issue was with the beige plastic bit where the battery plugs in. It had come loose, it sits on two prongs, and all I had to do was to push it back down. I think it got loose from replacing batteries, got tugged on too hard. So if anyone has the problem where it doesn't think your battery is plugged in, and won't turn on, check this spot too.

what's wrong with your camera? my camera sometimes doesn't have a screen and only functions as a radio. Will it be okay if I change the battery?

    • @danielpeters1754
      @danielpeters1754  Год назад

At the time, there was nothing wrong with my camera it was just the screen so that is why I repaired it. I have since gotten rid of it. In terms of the battery, yes you can replace it. Dont remember if it was removable or soldered.

The power button is not the problem with the one that won't turn on for me. The charging port had desoldered, but resoldering this did not fix. I also changed the battery and checked the power supply output (which is o.k.), but still no joy. Two of the green led's next to the blue charging light are lit very dimmly, so I think my one is for the bin.

Before you solve the problem, when you conected the charger the display was indicating battery recharge, or the screen was also blank in this situation? Thanks for the help.

I believe it did come on the display that it was charging but just couldn't turn it on.

+Rodolfo A. Barbosa dos Santos Hi! To open the camera , you need to remove all 4 white rubber bands found under the device. After that, use a precision screwdriver to remove the screws.

Obrigado!!

Ele abriu utilizando aquela ferramenta plástica azul. Seria como um "pé de cabra" só que de plástico para não destruir as bordas. Para abrir é só ir deslocando as laterais que tem uns quatro encaixes. eu também tenho uma babá dessa e tive problemas no conector de energia que se soltou.
