Thank you for sharing your knowledge, I took mine apart bc it won't turn on but it looks like something may have spilled inside.. there was sticky black stuff. Can if be repaired or is it toast?? Also, I wasn't wearing anything to protect me from being shocked. Is there enough electricity stored in one of those baby monitors to pose a risk? I take things apart all the time and I usually do it while sitting on my daybed which has a metal frame I got help from a guy to take apart a microwave since I wanted the magnet, I heard that the capacitator could have enough juice stored to give a fatal shock so I got help for that but ... .
Thank you! I needed the soldering lesson too as I attempt to reattach the the USB charging cord socket that fell loose in the case in a Camppark baby monitor. Me and my five-year-old buddy learned much from your video in just the topic we needed. You gave me the courage to disassemble. Now I’ll work up the courage to practice some soldering or find someone to help with that piece. Thank you again for the details. He’ll likely go on to apply this knowledge for years to come in his life. So your efforts will likely have long-lasting effects. 😁

I want to ask you something.I have a motorola MBP33.The device monitor don't open.The blue charging led is on when the adapter is plugged in.Only blue led.I'm elekctronic's teacher.I opened device.The open button is ok.I called the authorized service on Turkey. he motherboard of the device is locked. I must change motherboard. buts it's very expensive. Have you encountered such a problem before? What can I do ?
A good video of this repair to the power socket also your soldering technique is to be admired. The monitor i have, the power switch has lifted partly from the pads. Are you using a PC microscope to view the solder joints. NB: I always use a rreal sponge to clean the iron tip as well as tinning it. Cheers.
My Motorola mbp41spu monitor crapped out and won't charge. I've seen other vids where either the power button solder joints cracked or like here the charger solder joints cracked. Looks like I will crack mine open and see which it is, and warm up the old solder iron. Thanks for the vid!
Thanks for the video, though it actually tells me I can't fix it because I have a cracked charging port and I don't have a good port to replace it with. (Nor I have the soldering tool or skills even if I have one) it's a pity because the unit would otherwise work............... :(
