    You are completly wrong. SpaceX has corectly decided that the Starship is the future and will truly open up space travel and developement. The Crew Dragon, while an excellent vehicle for the moment will soon be as obsolete, as will all such kinds of vehicles, as a horse and buggy or a biplane was before the DC 3. Thats why your program is not worth subscibing to. Wake Up.

    SpaceX always planned to build 4 Crew Dragons. It’s popularity caused them to build a 5th.
    But that’s all they need, in order to have one at the ISS, one prepping for ISS, two in waiting, and one prepping for private missions.
    Then, of course, Starship is planned to replace them all.

      Bonus incentives such as extra contract funding if the Starship or Booster are able to perform a secondary task after completing their objective.
      This could help offset the costs of development.
      A good example of this might be a recovery of an orbital object after a successful refueling, de-orbiting research, and trash cleanup.

    Remember Everyone the Falcon 9 crashed 3 times in its development and the 4th was successful. We are now at 305 successful launches without a single failure. NASA has never had as stellar a safety record as SpaceX. The Starships 3rd launch is next week and I’m confident Musk and team will get it right.

    Musk said that they SX will make as many as needed, as long business continues to grow. Which means that if private stations becomes a boom, then, more crew dragons will be needed. Starship has no crew escape option during launch.
    Also, Starlink revenue goes towards paying for the development of Starship launch system and infrastructure.

    Eventually Starship might take over human space flight but not until it's " human rated" by NASA. To do this it will need to demonstrate very strong reliability with many problem free launches and landings. It will of course be a watershed moment in space travel when we see a Superheavy Booster fly itself back to the launch tower and be safely captured without damage and be reflown, and the Ship launched and similarly captured safely and reflown. NASA will need to see that happen multiple times before they approve it for human flight.

    • @techmap9
      @techmap9  8 месяцев назад

      Yes, human live is the most important factor. Nasa wants to make sure everything and SpaceX meets very well to that requirement

    It's a matter of demand for your " product" after proof of Concept, then where do you go? Where's a huge Need?

    • @Garryck-1
      @Garryck-1 8 месяцев назад

      The need hasn't existed, simply because nobody was capable of fulfilling it. When the ship is available, the need(s) will appear. What about entire space-stations that can be sent up in just a single (cheap) launch, rather than dozens (of expensive ones)? Several companies are now working on such projects, because they fully expect Starship to be able to deliver when the time comes. What about sending an entire asteroid mining rig up in a single, low-cost launch? And then hauling all that extracted ore back to Earth (or the Moon)? You really think mining companies won't be queuing up around the block?

  • @mikeking7470
    @mikeking7470 8 месяцев назад +1

    Your post is a total waste of time and bandwidth. We have know for some time that SpaceX is not producing more Crew Dragon capsules and is tooling up for the next iteration of their capsules, wither called the Gray Dragon or Dragon XL for the Lunar Gateway Station and other purposes. The Crew Dragon contracts with NASA will be running out before 2030 and SpaceX has enough capsules already to complete his contracts with private industries and NASA. If there is a future need SpaceX will build new and better capsules.

    Starship is a high risk system. I would not ride on it possibly ever. The expected SpaceX failure to identify and correct system problems may well result in multiple Starship crashes and fatalities. Expecting Crew Dragon or a similar upgraded model to be retired is a short-sighted game plan. Falcon 9 should be here a long time.
