  • This video is Euro Nymphing stripped to its basics. I'm not following any particular style of Euro Nymphing, we'll leave that for you to check out later.
    We look out the flies, the leaders, the rods, the lines and the fishing technique, so if you're interested in the method, this is your best first stop.

    Good discussion Peter ..... i bought a Euro Nymphing rod in the spring of 2019 that i have yet to wet a line with and your discussion just reminded me of that fact. I am going to sally forth later this week and pack it along. Thanks !

    I have buy the Dohiku Hooks type J like on your video but i found the gape very smal and almost inline with the eye of the Hook. Have you experienced the same gape issues?

      I have not had any hookup issues with these hooks, in fact they seem to hold quite well. Larcher and circle hooks also have points in line with the eye and hold well.

    Do you have a line recommendation for a fast action 6wt that does mostly indicator fishing but also can also lightly present small dries on lakes (Fishing from shore).

      This actually more of a line question than a rod question. Virtually any 6 wt. rod will do these jobs, but if you're looking for a Loomis recommendation, then most definitely the IMX-PRO 6 wt. will get the job done.
      The Airflo Sixth Sense lines are specifically designed for lake fishing and come in a variety of densities. For a 6 wt. rod, buy the 6/7 version.
      For indicator fishing, any indicator, bass bug or streamer line will do the job. Airflo has a range of these as well.

    would you consider center pin fishing in the same area as euro-nymphing?

      does it use a fly rod and are flys used? that seems to be the definition.

    • @hooked4lifeca
      @hooked4lifeca  4 года назад +1

      Not really. Hanging a fly under a float makes it "fishing with a fly using conventional tackle".

      @@stevestringham1095 bounce the light split shot and the fly off the bottom without a float..
