They didn't take the sound from the regular C8. They took the sound from the C8 E-Ray. It's a new exhaust sound they introduced with the E-Ray then Ctrl-C + Ctrl-V'd to the Z06.
Fun fact, my dad owns one now. 70th anniversary (2023). Not gonna dox myself and say color or whatever, but he got basically a maxxed out one for $180k. He loves it and it will be mine when he is no longer able to drive it.
Those zo6 definitely are a beast of a car. Most cars in this game are, just reskins unfortunately. They haven't really been adding new cars, they've just been adding new reskins lol
I'm just sad that this car isn't as great in the game as irl, despite papa Doug and Hagerty rated it pretty good against the new 911 GT3 RS. Just did some test races in a tune from the K1Z gang and even tried to tune it myself, yet it's too heavy, and if i made it light, it's too low on power.
Start using drift tires for your grip builds. They'll now on average, give you a lower PI score than Rally and provide the same amount of grip, without the weird floatiness that rally tires have.
I was so hyped for the Z06 and when I revved it, I was so disappointed. I thought the Exhaust mod would help it but it did nothing. I hope they fix it but knowing the Forza Dev's, I'm guessing that it's gonna stay like that 😢

The devs did a really good job on the engine sounds for the vast majority of the vehicles in the game, but they really dropped the ball with the C8 Z06 engine sound. I'll be waiting to see if it gets resolved.
It makes sense that the LT6 doesn’t build a ton of additional power. It’s essentially the race engine from the C8.R that GM took and put into the Z06, and gave it even more power. Considering also it’s the most powerful production N/A engine ever built, GM’s engineers have stretched the LT6 to its maximum capacity already lol. It makes 590+ to 600 horsepower on the dyno; it’s a monster of an engine.

Actually they copied the exact sound of the E-Ray Corvette (and made it higher pitched) instead of modifying the sound that's already present in the BASE model C8. I know because I've listened to car audio for a while now, I'm at the point where I could already decipher engine sound notes and their respective atmosphere.
If you go to photo mode and zoom in on the panel between the seats, the panel says 1553-2023 so that means the Corvette is 470 years old this year! 😂😂😂
