- Navy Ship Tours for LA Fleet Week
We visited Fleet Week in the Port of Los Angeles which is in San Pedro California. We went to be able to tour the Navy ships. We were able to visit 3 ships which took us from leaving home at 8am and staying there on our feet with no break until 3:30pm.
Not complaining as we really enjoyed seeing the ships and talking with the service people. The service men and women that are stationed on these ships are very proud of their ship and their jobs. Each and every one of them is eager to show just exactly what they do and the skills they have learned. It is a wonderful thing to experience and we highly recommend it to anyone that is able to do one of these tours.
We visited the USS Ashland LSD-48 and the USS Princeton CG-59 in this video. We were given full access to the Ashland to see all she had to offer. It was a great experience seeing both of these ships and we hope you enjoy our video.

For good reason, most of us think of going to San Diego to check out the USS Midway, but we non-LAers forget the USS Iowa is there, among the rest of the batch.

Living in a Navy city - Philly - we pass by the Navy Yard every time we go into Center City. It's powerful to check out.
Guessing they would take the navy & stars off the cannon if they ever had to put it back in service.

The Iowa replaced its deck in 2020 and we toured the ship at that time. We got a piece of the old wood deck and burned in the name of the ship on the bottom of it. Makes a great conversation piece. Thank you so much for watching.
