These debates are weird one of these characters has been around for 40 years while the other has been around for 11 of course there will be a huge gap in between the two seemingly limitless characters. It’s only been recently that we have seen saitama grow in strength since the beginning of the manga where as goku is constantly growing and being pushed to greater heights.

you cant compare goku who is showing his full power at all times with saitama who didnt even sweat during the fight with garou. we don't know how powerful saitama is truly, also, the video probably didnt say this but saitama scales his power so it is always greater than his opponent. he broke his limiter, meaning no limit to his power.

bruh why is this a debate. Saitama is strong in his own world just like Levi is strong in his own world. Goku in the babidi saga was able to travel 33,314 times faster than the speed of light and this is without instant transmission.
if you havent read the manga; when garuo teaches saitama his technieque, saitama is able to punch before the ever moved meaning he made an effect before causing it basically making it undodgeable. it has nothing to do with time or the speed of light so its not like you can say that goku is faster. and the technique learned from garuo isn't just limited to his punches so he can basically go back in time

I have only watched OPM’s two seasons and have never watched DBZ. I always thought that Saitama could beat Goku with ease but after this guy explained everything in this ONE video. I’m amazed. I feel like Saitama would win because of his unstoppable growth. If he was put in a fight with Goku, Saitama would probably have to fight extremely hard to start keeping up with Goku which would make him "workout". This would cause him to grow stronger and stronger because he has no limiter and eventually surpass the strength of Goku.
The problem is, working out isn't what causes Saitama to grow stronger. He is just in a natural state of growth, and the only thing that has ever changed that growth was the "surge of emotion like he had never felt before." On the other hand, Goku actually does grow stronger with effort. So, the closer to Goku's power that Saitama gets (which would take an excessive amount of time to close that gap, but we'll pretend like it wouldn't.), the faster Goku's own growth will get.

The graph that is shown to compare Saitama's growth to Garou's shows that Saitama grows by a larger amount each time and if Saitama can hold of Goku long enough Saitama could win.
@@user-vz3jf2ms1p Two problems. First is that Goku is powerful enough to one tap Saitama, even in base form. They are not close in power at all. Second, as I mentioned above, the closer Saitama actually gets to Goku's power, the more effort Goku will output, and therefore the faster Goku will grow. Eventually, their levels of growth will even out, and Saitama will stop getting closer to Goku's level of power. Keep in mind, Saitama is not special for having exponential growth. Sure, its not all that terribly often that a series will make a big deal about the exponential nature of the growth, but other series do have it too. A character tends to get stronger relative to the level of strength that they are at. So, as their strength increases, the rate at which they get stronger grows faster. That is what exponential means.
I may be a one punch man fan, but I gotta say that saitama and goku would not fight each other unless goku kills genos, and remember, saitama grows stronger in every fight he's in, and he became 2x stronger when he merged with himself after he time traveled, so if I have to be BRUTUALLY honest. Saitama would win with no scratches.
I agree that they wouldn't fight. Saitama doesn't go out of his way to fight people, and Goku would immediately be able to tell (due to ki sensing.) that Saitama would be no challenge to him. Saitama doesn't grow stronger every fight he is in. I mean, he does, but not really. He just naturally grows. Being in a fight has nothing to do with it. There is also nothing that indicates that he became any stronger when he merged with his past self. In fact, it shows that he actually lost things when he merged. At the very least, he lost all of his memories and experience of the future events, and again, we have no indication that his power changed at all. That said, even if Saitama's power was multiplied by a million times when he merged with his past self, a base Goku is still casually overpowering him. Saitama's best is low multi solar system, maybe you could argue low multi galaxy, if you want to be EXTREMELY generous. On the other hand, Goku is low balled to multi universal, in base for, since the end of the first arc of Super. Saitama doesn't stand a chance.

Goku got scratched by a bullet (which is completely explained in universe why this is the case, btw.). Saitama got scratched by a common house cat.

this is a debate because in db there are too many contradictions. in the manga, the moro tome... the last one released... we see that Vegeta doesn't travel at the speed of light he says he'll be on the spot on another part of earth in 5 seconds.... We see Goku fighting Krillin in god form... against Android 17... there are so many contradictions in dragon ball it's just ridiculous.... The fact that people use the argument of the destruction of the universe because of the clash of points between Beerus and Goku seems just as idiotic to me... Saitama has no limiter, meaning that their is literally no limit to his strength. The stronger the person he fights, the stronger he will get. Unfortunately, there probably isn’t any character in the OPM series that can push saitama to a lvl that rivals goku, so we will probably never get to see feats that can prove how strong he can possibly be.
That is true, Saitama has no limit, and has no limit to his strength. That same concept is true of basically every single Shonen character ever created. Goku has been shown to train and evolve during intense battles. If the opponent's power grows in real-time, Goku might use the battle itself as a training ground, rapidly unlocking new transformations or techniques.

In the Saitama universe, it seems highly improbable for anyone to elevate Saitama to Goku's level of power. Only a being like a god might be capable of achieving such a feat, assuming a fight of that magnitude were to happen. However, if by some unlikely circumstance, Saitama were to reach Goku's power level, it's conceivable that Goku would no longer be able to surpass him, as Saitama's strength would effortlessly surpass Goku's.

The problem is, Saitama has never shown the capability of growing to the extent he would need to in order to , not only close the monumental gap between them, but to outpace Goku's own absurd growth. The short version is, Saitama's growth looks incredibly impressive because its faster than his peers, while Goku's growth doesn't look super impressive because its relative to his peers. However, when you look at the actual magnitude of growth, Goku's is absolutely nuts.
@@ikeillue8385 I'd disagree, we have only seen Goku grow millions of times stronger, and it isn't instant, while Saitama's growth was instant when his power got stimulated, and the graph (a logarithmic scale) grows x32 for each level, and since he grew about 14 levels, that equates to about 10 sextillion times growth, instantly. Now say that his multi galaxy feat was multiplied by 10 sextillion, and Goku somehow matched that, that would simply stimulate even higher growth, causing it to be impossible for him to lose.

That is actually a very conservative estimate for his power. When you look at the cosmology of Dragon Ball, it gets pretty nutty. Without including the claims about heaven (I'll get to those in a second.), Goku is easily hitting 10 dimensional, with the possibility of going up to 12 dimensional. If you include the claims about Heaven, and interpret them to mean that it specifically transcends space and time, he is multiple tiers beyond outerversal. But that isn't even the highest either. You could also interpret it that, when it says that Heaven transcends dimensions, it isn't clarifying that space and time are the dimensions its transcending, but it is saying that it transcends dimensions entirely INCLUDING space and time, which results in him being multiple tiers above boundless (as nonsensical as that concept is. But dimensional tiering is nonsensical to begin with.). But even that isn't technically the highest you can scale Goku to. You could technically look all the way back to original Dragon Ball, when Goku hits Yamcha so hard that he slams into and breaks the manga panel, as well as shortly later when he first goes great ape, he terrifies the narrator, putting his series start power at transcending fiction (this isn't an argument I'd ever use, but the point is that I'm just pointing out that your scaling is in fact very conservative.).
The fans that say, "Uhm he destroyed Jupiter with a sneeze so hes stronger than everyone" like you could have really nice art work of a planet getting destroyed by Saitama then theres Goku shaking a universe and yet people go for the Saitama scene since it looks so much more appealing so they in their delusional mindset say Saitama solo's Goku
There is no scale to begin with. Saitama's power is limitless. He's a gag character made so strong that, at full power, could destroy the very idea of existence. Nothing would exist. It's really futile to try to measure a power that's immeasurable.
To be fair, it could still very well end in a tie because no one has ever seen Saitama taken damage (besides the fact that they would probably play video games together and eat out or destroy other enemies)
Two issues. First of all "could" is not at all the same as "is." Bill Gates could call you up today, and say that he is liquidating all of his assets, and transferring the entire sum into your bank account. That is a 100% factual statement. However, is it at all reasonable to assume that is actually going to happen? In the same way, if Saitama had never taken damage (which I will get into, in the "second of all" portion.), its entirely possible that he could take a punch from Goku without taking damage. That is an INCREDIBLY low estimate for how fast Goku is. Keep in mind, Strength and speed increase comparatively in Dragon Ball. Goku was already hitting light speeds, when he was of comparable power to a moon buster. So, now that he is hitting the massively multi universal levels of power, on a low ball, I don't think I need to explain just how ludicrously fast he is.
The funny thing that people don't realize is that EVERYONE in the DB Universe DON'T have limits. As long as Ki exists, which is HIGHLY tied to the essence and physics of the Dragon Ball Universe, no one has limits. Jiren is a fucking nobody that just trained hard enough to the point where he has GoD levels of strength, just because he is so efficient at using ki which was further iterated by Vegeta in the manga and in the DBS:Super Hero Movie. Ki is everything in Dragonball, it's literally the most dynamic shit ever. As long as you've mastered manipulating ki into all of it's properties, food, clothes, even the hardest compound in the whole multiverse. The races in Dragonball are just a lucky roll into stats that allow for you to be able to use ki easier, such as saiyans being able to use ki naturally.
Well said. A small point to add onto this is, ki is also the in universe explanation for the "antifeats" we see throughout Dragon Ball. Most series don't give explanations for antifeats. IE, in OPM, one minute Saitama and Garou's clash takes out thousands of stars, then the next they are more powerful and trading blows without so much as creating a crater on the moon they are fighting on. However, Dragon Ball's ki control and manipulation literally explains all of that sort of thing. And its not even just a fan theory either. We literally watch what happens when DB characters don't enhance their own bodies with Ki (Goku gets hurt by a common bullet, which Whis directly explains to be a result of not using ki enhancement.), and we literally watch what happens when they don't control the energy they are outputting with ki (the beerus fight literally shows Goku accidentally over shoot Beerus when he tries to rush him, because he isn't used to the level of power he has. This then further culminates into the macrocosm threatening shockwaves that Goku is accidentally releasing, before he gains control of his new power.).
Listen up though, you got it right that goku wins if feats are checked BUT saitama has the plot armour he is designed to be the invincible ONE PUNCH MAN unlike our goku's design , in fiction the writers will show saitama win.
The problem is, plot armor only effects the plot. Goku is not part of the opm plot, therefore Saitama's plot armor would have absolutely no effect. Essentially your argument is saying, "if Goku was forced into the OPM universe, then Saitama would win" which is true, because Goku would be playing by the OPM narrative. But at the same time I could make the argument "if Saitama was forced into the Dragon Ball universe, at best, Saitama would be uselessly watching from the sidelines, if not getting jobbed waiting for Goku to step in." However, what actually matters is who would win in a completely neutral universe, with no narrative going in either direction. This is where feats and scaling comes into play.

Saitama is a man that can defeat any foe with a single punch. If the two of them were to face off in a one-on-one battle, Saitama would easily win.

I really loved your take on the battle. It was very cool, and it taught me a lot about goku. However, your take on saitama's power I believe is that his power grows exponentially faster and faster over time, but goku's already so far ahead that goku would easily beat him if they met now. Another take that many one-punch man fans have including myself is that saitama's power grows to how much he needs to defeat his opponents which is why he is always able to one-punch his opponents. The reason he didn't kill garou in one punch is because it was Tareo's final request to stop him without killing him.
I understand your argument, but saitama also said he was no longer holding bag, this alludes that in order to keep up with garou he had to at the very least use most of his power. Also, he is shown getting stronger and stronger, that means that he needs to improve to keep up, so he's not all powerful. Saitama get's stronger as he fights, but he is fighting someone that is infinitely more powerful than him on a dimensional level, that also improves and gets stronger as he fights with multiple transformations and multipliers, more techniques and hax, battle knowledge and capabilities the list goes on. I feel like Saitama would win because of his unstoppable growth. If he was put in a fight with Goku, Saitama would probably have to fight extremely hard to start keeping up with Goku which would make him "workout". This would cause him to grow stronger and stronger because he has no limiter and eventually surpass the strength of Goku.
The problem is, working out isn't what causes Saitama to grow stronger. He is just in a natural state of growth, and the only thing that has ever changed that growth was the "surge of emotion like he had never felt before." On the other hand, Goku actually does grow stronger with effort. So, the closer to Goku's power that Saitama gets (which would take an excessive amount of time to close that gap, but we'll pretend like it wouldn't.), the faster Goku's own growth will get.

The graph that is shown to compare Saitama's growth to Garou's shows that Saitama grows by a larger amount each time and if Saitama can hold of Goku long enough Saitama could win.

Second, as I mentioned above, the closer Saitama actually gets to Goku's power, the more effort Goku will output, and therefore the faster Goku will grow. Eventually, their levels of growth will even out, and Saitama will stop getting closer to Goku's level of power. Keep in mind, Saitama is not special for having exponential growth. Sure, its not all that terribly often that a series will make a big deal about the exponential nature of the growth, but other series do have it too. A character tends to get stronger relative to the level of strength that they are at. So, as their strength increases, the rate at which they get stronger grows faster. That is what exponential means.

I may be a one punch man fan, but I gotta say that saitama and goku would not fight each other unless goku kills genos, and remember, saitama grows stronger in every fight he's in, and he became 2x stronger when he merged with himself after he time traveled, so if I have to be BRUTUALLY honest. Saitama would win with no scratches.

There is also nothing that indicates that he became any stronger when he merged with his past self. In fact, it shows that he actually lost things when he merged. At the very least, he lost all of his memories and experience of the future events, and again, we have no indication that his power changed at all.
That said, even if Saitama's power was multiplied by a million times when he merged with his past self, a base Goku is still casually overpowering him. Saitama's best is low multi solar system, maybe you could argue low multi galaxy, if you want to be EXTREMELY generous. Unfortunately, there probably isn’t any character in the OPM series that can push saitama to a lvl that rivals goku, so we will probably never get to see feats that can prove how strong he can possibly be.
That is true, Saitama has no limit, and has no limit to his strength. That same concept is true of basically every single Shonen character ever created. Saitama is not special at all for having no limits. In fact, he is literally the norm.

Only a being like a god might be capable of achieving such a feat, assuming a fight of that magnitude were to happen. However, if by some unlikely circumstance, Saitama were to reach Goku's power level, it's conceivable that Goku would no longer be able to surpass him, as Saitama's strength would effortlessly surpass Goku's.

The problem is, Saitama has never shown the capability of growing to the extent he would need to in order to , not only close the monumental gap between them, but to outpace Goku's own absurd growth. The short version is, Saitama's growth looks incredibly impressive because its faster than his peers, while Goku's growth doesn't look super impressive because its relative to his peers. However, when you look at the actual magnitude of growth, Goku's is absolutely nuts.

That is actually a very conservative estimate for his power. When you look at the cosmology of Dragon Ball, it gets pretty nutty.
Without including the claims about heaven (I'll get to those in a second.), Goku is easily hitting 10 dimensional, with the possibility of going up to 12 dimensional.
If you include the claims about Heaven, and interpret them to mean that it specifically transcends space and time, he is multiple tiers beyond outerversal. But that isn't even the highest either.
You could also interpret it that, when it says that Heaven transcends dimensions, it isn't clarifying that space and time are the dimensions its transcending, but it is saying that it transcends dimensions entirely INCLUDING space and time, which results in him being multiple tiers above boundless (as nonsensical as that concept is. But dimensional tiering is nonsensical to begin with.). But even that isn't technically the highest you can scale Goku to.
You could technically look all the way back to original Dragon Ball, when Goku hits Yamcha so hard that he slams into and breaks the manga panel, as well as shortly later when he first goes great ape, he terrifies the narrator, putting his series start power at transcending fiction (this isn't an argument I'd ever use, but the point is that I'm just pointing out that your scaling is in fact very conservative.).

Two issues. First of all "could" is not at all the same as "is." Bill Gates could call you up today, and say that he is liquidating all of his assets, and transferring the entire sum into your bank account. That is a 100% factual statement. However, is it at all reasonable to assume that is actually going to happen? In the same way, if Saitama had never taken damage (which I will get into, in the "second of all" portion.), its entirely possible that he could take a punch from Goku without taking damage. However, based on the highest potency hits he has taken thus far, its not at all reasonable to say that he could (due to just how drastic the difference in power is between what Saitama has taken, and Goku's casual.).
Second, you would actually be incorrect about never having seen Saitama take damage. In the battle with Garou, we legitimately see Saitama physically react to Garou's attacks. Is it anything significant? No. However, even if it is just a little bit, its still something. And the fact that we see that "something" from Garou's attacks, is essentially a guarantee that something that is on a level so ridiculously much higher than Garou's attack potency, would turn Saitama into a red mist.

The funny thing that people don't realize is that EVERYONE in the DB Universe DON'T have limits. As long as Ki exists, which is HIGHLY tied to the essence and physics of the Dragon Ball Universe, no one has limits. Jiren is a fucking nobody that just trained hard enough to the point where he has GoD levels of strength, just because he is so efficient at using ki which was further iterated by Vegeta in the manga and in the DBS:Super Hero Movie.

Well said. A small point to add onto this is, ki is also the in universe explanation for the "antifeats" we see throughout Dragon Ball. Most series don't give explanations for antifeats. IE, in OPM, one minute Saitama and Garou's clash takes out thousands of stars, then the next they are more powerful and trading blows without so much as creating a crater on the moon they are fighting on.
However, Dragon Ball's ki control and manipulation literally explains all of that sort of thing. And its not even just a fan theory either. We literally watch what happens when DB characters don't enhance their own bodies with Ki (Goku gets hurt by a common bullet, which Whis directly explains to be a result of not using ki enhancement.), and we literally watch what happens when they don't control the energy they are outputting with ki (the beerus fight literally shows Goku accidentally over shoot Beerus when he tries to rush him, because he isn't used to the level of power he has. This then further culminates into the macrocosm threatening shockwaves that Goku is accidentally releasing, before he gains control of his new power.).

The problem is, plot armor only effects the plot. Goku is not part of the opm plot, therefore Saitama's plot armor would have absolutely no effect. Essentially your argument is saying, "if Goku was forced into the OPM universe, then Saitama would win" which is true, because Goku would be playing by the OPM narrative. But at the same time I could make the argument "if Saitama was forced into the Dragon Ball universe, at best, Saitama would be uselessly watching from the sidelines, if not getting jobbed waiting for Goku to step in." However, what actually matters is who would win in a completely neutral universe, with no narrative going in either direction. This is where feats and scaling comes into play.

I really loved your take on the battle. It was very cool, and it taught me a lot about goku. However, your take on saitama's power I believe is that his power grows exponentially faster and faster over time, but goku's already so far ahead that goku would easily beat him if they met now. Another take that many one-punch man fans have including myself is that saitama's power grows to how much he needs to defeat his opponents which is why he is always able to one-punch his opponents. The reason he didn't kill garou in one punch is because it was Tareo's final request to stop him without killing him.

Also, he is shown getting stronger and stronger, that means that he needs to improve to keep up, so he's not all powerful.

Goku right now is much stronger and has stronger feats then saitama, but if saitama can grow in power from the fight then he will win. Because realistically the plot for the fight will end up with goku gaining a new form, but saitama growing much stronger. So practically it could end up either way, aka draw 6:05
@@mrwafflez1046 I completely disagree because saiyans also get exponentially stronger as they fight. In the TOP alone goku got thousands of times stronger. This is why I think saitama can't win, even if goku stalls the fight to make him get as strong as him, they'll both just keep fighting and getting stronger forever, untill one of them gives up or gets tired.
But if goku isn't playing around and seriously flicks saitama in his base form, his body is going to evaporate.
