These debates are weird one of these characters has been around for 40 years while the other has been around for 11 of course there will be a huge gap in between the two seemingly limitless characters. It’s only been recently that we have seen saitama grow in strength since the beginning of the manga where as goku is constantly growing and being pushed to greater heights.

DBS chapter 81: Goku(not even in base form- he is transformed) struggles and sweats to avoid and not get hit/hurt from mere parts of buildings and a train thrown at him from Gas. He struggles to get up on the train's roof.

this is a debate because in db there are too many contradictions. in the manga, the moro tome... the last one released... we see that Vegeta doesn't travel at the speed of light he says he'll be on the spot on another part of earth in 5 seconds.... We see Goku fighting Krillin in god form... against Android 17... there are so many contradictions in dragon ball it's just ridiculous.... The fact that people use the argument of the destruction of the universe because of the clash of points between Beerus and Goku seems just as idiotic to me... This is also assuming that Goku's own growth isn't exponential (it is), and that Saitama's growth is actually faster than Goku's growth (its not.), and that Saitama's growth is fast enough to cover the crazy difference between their levels in a reasonable amount of time to begin with (it isn't.).

Saitama has no limiter, meaning that their is literally no limit to his strength. The stronger the person he fights, the stronger he will get. Unfortunately, there probably isn’t any character in the OPM series that can push saitama to a lvl that rivals goku, so we will probably never get to see feats that can prove how strong he can possibly be.
That is true, Saitama has no limit, and has no limit to his strength. That same concept is true of basically every single Shonen character ever created. Saitama is not special at all for having no limits. In fact, he is literally the norm.
You are blatantly wrong on one point though. The strength of his opponent has absolutely nothing to do with Saitama's growth. Saitama is always in a state of growth, and the only thing in the series that has ever changed that rate of growth, has been the surge of emotion he got from Genos' death. Thats it. Saying that Saitama grows based on the power of his opponent is straight up head canon.

There is no scale to begin with. Saitama's power is limitless. He's a gag character made so strong that, at full power, could destroy the very idea of existence. Nothing would exist. It's really futile to try to measure a power that's immeasurable.

Except that isn't true for either character. Both characters have taken damage to at least some extent, proving that their durability can be overpowered. The difference is, Goku is getting hit by massively multi universe busting attacks in order to take damage (on an extreme low end.), while Saitama is physically reacting to low multi solar system level attacks.

Only a being like a god might be capable of achieving such a feat, assuming a fight of that magnitude were to happen. However, if by some unlikely circumstance, Saitama were to reach Goku's power level, it's conceivable that Goku would no longer be able to surpass him, as Saitama's strength would effortlessly surpass Goku's.

But Saitama is not special for either the fact that his power grows exponentially, nor the fact that he has no limits. Those are both incredibly common Shonen tropes. In fact, Goku was literally the character who popularized those tropes, so that Saitama could satirize them.

I really loved your take on the battle. It was very cool, and it taught me a lot about goku. However, your take on saitama's power I believe is that his power grows exponentially faster and faster over time, but goku's already so far ahead that goku would easily beat him if they met now. Another take that many one-punch man fans have including myself is that saitama's power grows to how much he needs to defeat his opponents which is why he is always able to one-punch his opponents. The reason he didn't kill garou in one punch is because it was Tareo's final request to stop him without killing him.
I understand your argument, but saitama also said he was no longer holding bag, this alludes that in order to keep up with garou he had to at the very least use most of his power. Also, he is shown getting stronger and stronger, that means that he needs to improve to keep up, so he's not all powerful.
Saitama get's stronger as he fights, but he is fighting someone that is infinitely more powerful than him on a dimensional level, that also improves and gets stronger as he fights with multiple transformations and multipliers, more techniques and hax, battle knowledge and capabilities the list goes on. So it's literally impossible for him to win. At least at his current level

It’s either saitama being defeated, or him growing power, so basically the fight is based off that factor. Goku right now is much stronger and has stronger feats then saitama, but if saitama can grow in power from the fight then he will win. Because realistically the plot for the fight will end up with goku gaining a new form, but saitama growing much stronger. So practically it could end up either way, aka draw 6:05
