  • The NEWS project has developed a Next Generation European Inland Waterway Ship and logistics system to make container transport on inland waterways more cost-, time- and ecologically efficient. It supports the full integration of waterborne transport into the EU transport and logistics chain.

    This is great news. The Inland Waterways have being for too long under- utilizes. Having a Comprehensive Technical Assessment offers greater objectivity to this mode of Logistics. many Developing Countries with sizable waterways would realize the intrinsic value of their development.

    it is better to construct a inland waterway from Arabia sea where the Narmada river meets the sea to Godavari river at Nashik, so that we can connect Arabia sea and Bay of Bengal so that we can transport the goods from Mumbai or Goa to Kolkata and Visakhapatnam with cheap cost.

      An interesting thought, a huge undertaking. If it helps enrich India, it's a good idea. It will mean 20 extremely expensive bridges along with an incredible amount of excavation.
