cool cats and campers. you guys are working good together.
These videos are so old haha. Thanks for watching
I watched it again. you guys haave it going on. hope you made it through milton ok.
We did ok, thanks for asking.
A cold front went thru there when I was camping a huge pine tree fell across the fire road a spent a couple of hours cutting it up with a small hand saw to get my way out of the forest that said it was a wonderful night in the swamp my favorite place to be!
I love that site. Ron and I camped through a tornado. The weather was fine and calm. Then someone got a weather alert and sure enough the severe storm must have missed us by a 1/4 mile. Luckily it only lasted a few minutes. But that’s still my go to place to camp. Especially with the owls.
@@OverlandFlorida right on love that forest and the Green Swamp!
You need to add a folding bow saw to your kit.
I carry one in my rig and I don't even drive in the swamps.
That tree could have been your firewood.
That’s a good idea.
I saw a Sasquatch in that area. I gave him some beef jerky.
You always have to keep beef jerky on you when you camp.
Get you a couple of thermocell backpackers and no more bugs! We live on a swamp here in NCF and I swear by them!! Thanks for the video!!!
Thanks for watching! Ron always has those. But unfortunately we were out of the fuel for them.
@@OverlandFlorida That's why you get the backpacker with the larger fuel tanks. You get about 120 hours out of a large isobutane canister.
Limb risers in Florida work really good
They actually do. I had them on my old jeep.
One word ... thermacell !!
A cool looking place
Seriously you don’t have a folding saw or hatchet to cut tree fall out of the way.
Make a Lowes or Home Depot run and get one or both and throw them in the recovery box.
Oh and really neat camp site. Damn mosquitoes always ruin a good time.
Yes we had one. But it was faster and easier to drag it out of the way. It was bigger than you think.
Lol only thing I hate about camping is bugs
Great video . Nice to see you on the trail
You and me both! Especially when bug spray has no effect.
Great channel
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing the drive into camp
You're welcome! Thanks for watching
Get you a Thermo-Cell they work, I live in the Key’s and I used to traverse the Everglades as a guide I can tell you about bugs!
Those do work well, Ron uses those.
The wooden spoon is a great place to eat 👍
It sure is!
Went and bought one of those Brian lights you use love it great video
I love those lights too!
Looking forward to it bud!
Great stuff man, sucks that the trip was less than enjoyable but you win some loose some I guess lol. I am waiting for you to say you havent seen any gators then have one go by in the background LOL
I was half expecting the same thing lol
Great video. 👍🏻 Looking forward to the day trip videos.
Me too. Going back to film the trail I broke my snorkel on.
Dang man, pictured you to look a lot different! YT has been hiding your vids so I haven’t seen any in a few months. I’m liking the new style of video! 👌🏼
I'm just a simple man, living a simple life. Thanks for watching!
@@OverlandFlorida heard that! Y’all should make your way up to GA this time of year. This weekend is supposed to be real nice. We’re breaking out the Runaway & T4R to do some camping ourselves. Finally no rain.
I was in GA, NC, Ten and SC for 3 weeks in Sept.
Have you tried using a thermocell or 2 when you set up camp? They do work wonders for mosquitoes and sand gnats. I use them early bow season, and spring turkey hunting in the FL swamp when the mosquitoes are horrible and they do a great job
Yes, Ron has those. They actually to work pretty well.
Can’t wait
Me either.
No chainsaw or axe but sidearms says it all.
I just got back from camping with power and it was still miserable. Great looking spot!
We just had a site all weekened in the keys with power. It wasn't that bad. But had AC and a celing fan in the tent lol.
@@OverlandFlorida haha that's great
I'm lucky enough to have grown up hunting and fishing in the Everglades back in the sixties and early seventies that's back when Alligator Alley and 41 or two lane roads I'm 64 now and must say Florida has changed a lot and not all for the good you city boys kill me trying to camp in the woods
Yeah yeah yeah. I'm sure you rubbed two sticks together to start campfires too.
So, I’m fortunate enough to call these guys my friends, and I’m happy to tell you that you are making incorrect assumptions about them, where they are from, and their experiences. That said, I’ll let them defend themselves.
Now, I’ve been in the background in a few of these videos myself, so I’ll address your comment as it relates to me. I’d be willing to bet that I’ve lived in smaller places than you, spent more nights camping than you (unless you are homeless), caught as many fish as you, and I’ve probably hunted and killed as much game as you. I don’t use fancy gear, and don’t need much of shit to be happy in the woods. But, I’m not mad that people go out and use all different types of equipment to try to have fun in the woods, as long it doesn’t bother those around them. Overland Florida has rigged up an a/c to stay happy and comfortable. You used Miller High Life and your sister to do the same. I’m not mad at either of you, and I think you need to quit thinking that your way is somehow superior. Live and let live bud.
Overland Florida maybe I need to make a bow drill video...
The NRA must love you and the free ads lol
What do you mean?
I used to enjoy spending the weekends under a dirty 4X4 pounding out u-joints, changing brake pads & gear oil and repacking wheel bearings. Not as fun anymore, I try to avoid the deep water crossings. Withlacoochee River is very nice. I'll be there this winter. Hopefully not as wet.
Hopefully it's a dry winter! I used to take my jeeps through those swamps all the time. Thanks for watching.
I camped there in early Feb. of this year and it was awesome except for the terrible wind storm one night I was expecting to knock a tree over on me, lol. Had the campground all to myself for three nights and two days. I put my kayak in there and there are trees across the river in both directions not far away. I had another reservation to go back in late March and then COVID caused the shutdown. I'll be back sometime this fall/winter/spring but no summer camping for me, I worked out in the Florida bugs and heat for 30 years, don't need that nonsense when I'm camping, lol.
Thanks Paul. I love this little spot on the river. We always see so much wildlife here. Hopefully winter doesn't skip us this year and we have a nice cool winter to do some camping.
What campground is this looks awesome...keep the great videos coming
Looks like yall had fun! Looks similar to Rainbow springs... it's a mosquito-infested swamp right now too! stay safe my FL homies!
The bugs are just as bad as Rainbow Springs. Thanks for watching!
Now you can also make a video for what works and what doesn’t work when dealing with Florida bugs. What kind of bug spray do you normally use?
I try not to use anything. If I do, I use OFF brand.
Murphy's Naturals Lemon Eucalyptus Oil is natural decent one. I tend to spray it at the airborne yellow flies attacking my face.
I figured y'all would use them Glocks for the mosquitoes. Lord knows I've been tempted to myself lol
Thanks for the great content. Think it is awesome you were open carrying while camping. :)
Thanks. We try to open carry as much as possible.
@@OverlandFlorida Yep! They opened carried back in 1776! Happy Independence Day!!!!
Oh I see a gun ahhhhhh I'm triggered and now I see my safe space. Joking I'm joking, this is my first video of yours and I think it's great. I lived and camped all over Florida and I'm pretty sure I've camped there. Subscribed and liked Thanks
Hey! Thanks for watching, I've camped in most places around Florida minus the panhandle. Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
proper terminology for youtube is called *pew pew*
@@OverlandFlorida you need to come to the panhandle sometime blackwater state forest is great riding trails and plenty of lakes to camp around!
@@Jrazz00 water was super cold in the heat last week! nice
Pretty boy camping 101
I'll let Ron know you think he's pretty. But he's not into dudes, sorry
Good overlanding
Thank you!
Do you carry for animal protection mainly? Great vid 👌
Yes. Mainly for hogs. Thanks for watching.
Looking forward to the keys camping video.
See what had happened was.... I started to make a video. But we were too all over the place.
@@OverlandFlorida Bummer!
@@srok62 I know, I really wanted to make one. Instead I just made an Instagram story.
@@OverlandFlorida I'm heading down there in 2 weeks, although to an RV park.
@@srok62 sometimes that's the best way.
Any update on the bluetti?
Do not buy the version I have. The 12v socket is not regulated. So you won't get a constant 12v for the life of the battery. Meaning your device will shut off at like 60% battery because the power will drop below 12v. They corrected this problem and have a regulated plug. Now you will get a constant 12v all the way until the battery hits 0.
When is the merch coming? I need a cool cats and Campers Hat.
As soon as the channel makes enough to pay for the initial order of merchandise I'll start. Thanks for watching!
I thought you cant open carry in FL unless you are going to or from hunting/fishing
That's not correct. Read the state statute.
.. and camping
When are you going to fix the exhaust leak on that Toyota?
Which one?
✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
ahhh, so thats where you were at :)
One of my favorite places.
Took my son to Huguenot to camp overnight last month. Everything was great until the wind died down, then the gnats came out. Hit my son really bad, but we were both miserable. Bugs will ruin a good campout!
You got that right. It's easy to prepare for the heat or cold. Hard to prepare for the bugs.
What’s the name of the camp site ?
It's in the green swamp.
To damn hot to camp!
It's pretty rough. That being said. I'm camping tomorrow!
👏✌
So to camp within the state forest there is no need for reservations or permits, anyone is free to car camp anywhere?
You can not freely camp in state forests. You need a free online permit to get a gate code to camp in designated areas.
What’s the name of this spot?
McNeil
What is your preferred beach camp site for an overnight trip ?
Peter's Point. There's not many options for drive on beach camping in Florida.
Overland Florida ok cool thank you
I will give it a try this September 7 any permit needed?
I'm not sure if it's open back up. You need a $5 permit from the local gas station.
Before Andrew, we would go 30 miles in the swamp. Before cell phones, before GPS.. swamp buggies would roll from Alligator Alley. This is fancy camping. Natives shouldn’t need a damn permit to go down there.
Pretty boy camping
Braun
Nice Glock on your person!
Thanks! G22 & G27
Take your hammer with you because if you go camping in Florida if they see you, they will not leave you along...these off roaders will jack with you. Georgia is a better experience for campers.
Hammer? In Florida we carry guns…
WTH is the name of the place?....uninteligible
