- The Song Is Called Sing, Sing, Sing (This is Parts 1 and 2)
Featuring Benny Goodman On Clarinet, Mel Powell On Piano, Gene Krupa On Drums, Charlie Shavers On Trumpet, Hymie Schertzer And Sid Caesar On Saxophones.
Man, the sound quality is terrible, a shame because this performance is awesome!
Merci pour cet ajout un peu flou en image et en sons assez bons 🎶♥️🎵🎺:
Notice one thing about Gene Krupa. He held his sticks one tip end out the other in. This is what created such a diverse sound on the floor tom. Gene Krupa was ahead of his time doing stick tricks and cross sticking long before it became popular. He was truly amazing to watch.
Thank you for posting this Hymie Schertzer was my Uncle I had not seen this before
This is the from the November 1, 1954 telecast of "CAESAR'S HOUR". Sid Caesar could play a great sax solo himself, when given the chance.
Einfach Klasse unübertroffen. Vielleicht im Carnegie Konzert!

What talent! Sid was beautiful! Benny Goodman had arguably the best swing orchestra and jazz quartet in musical history.
Benny Goodman had a racially integrated band in the 1930's when professional sports ^ the US military was racially segregated. Goodman was quite progressive in a time when there was pressure to not be.
The great Charlie Shavers on trumpet!
@ThePsychicdeath
And so what?!!
Black people play with him for the first time!!!
I can't hear this song with out wanting to jump around and dance until I drop!
Just awesome!
Where is this from?
Benny was a perfectionist,if anyone missed a note when recording, all the band had to start again
+john parker That's because the technology of the day. The music was recorded onto a wax disc, using a maximum of 3 microphones, with no isolation. Either you did or you didn't. Since Benny was a ruthless perfectionist.......if you missed a note, your life expectancy with the band was abut two second. Same with Miller, Dorsey, Shaw, etc.
@@SheridanJazzwow, are you serious? So this means you had to be on point with exactly every note😟
Not only that, but Mel Brooks plays pretty good jazz drums.
Don’t disrespect !
