      44:36 tbh it’s their fault and it’s not their fault , it’s the NDTVs fault that they were thinking that the government who’s lap they’re sitting in will go on forever
      And it’s not their mistake now because , I mean think about it once you go up in life, then suddenly you can’t come back down , I mean imagine you’re used to driving a Mercedes now if you’re suddenly down to maruti suzuki , It will leave a bitter taste in your mouth
      Now imagine you’re downed by the government, whom you thought you will control using your propaganda against 😂

      In some sense, it was not an 'expose'; anyone with the least discernment already knew this. I suppose many among the younger generations watch the cacophonies of Republic TV and Times Now, and contrast it with NDTV's equanimity, and infer that the latter does journalism whereas the former two only erect a circus. It is not quite true. Certainly, a calmer tone is an important factor, but it is not the sole factor.

    As her point even when NDTV had access to the government, they were still asking questions from them. They didn't hire a script writer to ask questions like "aap aam kaise khaatey ho" ya "aap thaktey kyun nahin". The term "Godi Media" exists because the kind of work they are doing which is only promoting how great central govt is and not asking real questions for regular people. It's not because a reporter like Ravish wants to put them down.
    I've worked with a media agency for 2 years and I know how things changed when JNU protests were happening or Ram Mandir verdict came out. Currently Indian media is like a dog with a leash to the central government. There's a reason why press freedom ranking of our country is 150 which is really sad for the largest democracy of the world.

      @itsamitsharma Год назад +1

      @@sanjeevverma4533 I never blamed Akshay Kumar, it was not his personal question. The producers give questions to ask in such interviews. But the real question should be why an actor was picked to take interview of our PM. Where were all the journalists?
      The only last unscripted interview which our PM gave was to Karan Thapar, in which he walked out and since he's not been part of even one press conference. You can go and watch 2019 BJP press conference where he passed all the questions to Amit Shah and didn't even answer one.
      Another incident when PM was addressing villagers through a video call, one person stood and started asking about increase in price of petrol and other materials. Look at the way he was asked to sit down. If you think that it is alright for our leader to dodge questions like this or only sit in orchestrated interviews then what's the point of even having journalists. And if you think there's nothing wrong and no questions are worth asking then I've nothing to say. Have a nice day.

But the true journalist will try to find the balance by not being blatant without the necessary facts. The true journalist will paint the picture whilst trying to be wholesome, rather than just putting up cropped up images.
    I think the thing with NDTV was as she said, they always had the access no matter what. But post-jio era has substantially diminished the value of media's influence, as the value of ' access ' factor got substantially deminished. People no more rely on the media houses to form opinions.
