Fr, just because she might be an easier healer to play in general doesn’t mean she requires no skill. If you’ve played Percy in the higher ranks, you would know how stressful it is when your whole team needs healing. Sucks that people don’t appreciate her that much

I love having mercy mains on my team. But when it comes to dogging on someone's skill on the majority of the other characters he isn't wrong...if you're almost exclusively a mercy player... you can't really say shit to other players because chances are... you wouldn't do any better even if you're correct.
But mercy has a lot of control over the vibe of the team. If you approach the situation with a "what do we need to do to fix this" and not a "you're dog shit" 9 times out of 10 there will be an immediate change in character to better suit the comp if they aren't doing it already. She has this leverage because as a healer she has a metric shit ton of utility/ mobility as well as being one of the more difficult healers to play consistently with.
I think it wasn't so much that he was playing mercy that he was using as an insult but more that he plays mercy and only mercy based from the stats. He was insulting him because he was a one trick.
If mercy mains werent toxic i would hate it too, but ive seen a lot of low elo mercy mains constantly blame everyone but themselves

I really love how as soon as you speak up, everyone has to rush to attack back and defend themselves. Can't you just embrace the suck? It's not like you don't know how badly you're playing. Don't get butthurt when someone else notices, too. Widow doesn't take point. She stays in the backline and gets picks to clear the way for the rest of the team. You were doing your job. Oh, and as a Mercy player (ahem, we do have the right to speak, thank you...lol) there are few things more frustrating than just standing stationary at choke waiting for the rest of the team to just press w. The ult charge is great, guys, but my ult isn't gonna take the point. (Side note, I have solo capped while in valk, but you only get away with that if the other team is completely oblivious. And that doesn't happen often.) Playing the game means walking forward onto point. You can't just stand there giving all the people you've managed to kill all the time they need to get back to point and keep fighting. It's just cyclical at that point.

I have no problem with mercy players as I’ve said in other videos/streams. My only point was that for him to critique my DPS plays and say I should be a healer when he plays mercy, a character known for being played by those who are not very mechanically skilled, is a crap point and I was happy to flame him for it

This might seem like a stupid question (bronze/silver player soo) why didn’t your team go left ? And force them off high ground...or right to the other high ground. Which I see less and do less cus it seems harder. Especially as a rein player (I’m bad for not shielding enough because I love being aggressive) but even then once you get into that side room you don’t even need shield till you get closer to high ground. Even on the right side there’s loads of cover...so? The tanks can be more aggressive with less risk of the dps/healers getting sniped. Idk if I explained my reasoning properly
